There are 400 cherry trees in the in the . In the spring you can enjoy the beautiful blossoms and the place exudes a special atmosphere all year round. In May, the cherry trees are surrounded by a purple circle of flowering rhododendrons.

The Ghent Altarpiece (or the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, Dutch: Het Lam Gods) is a large and complex 15th-century polyptych altarpiece in St Bavo's Cathedral, Ghent, Belgium. It was begun c. the mid-1420s and completed before 1432, and is attributed to the Early Netherlandish painters and brothers Hubert and Jan van Eyck. The altarpiece is considered a masterpiece of European art and one of the world's treasures.

“Plane spotting - part 1”

The Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport is located around 2 kilometres south of Corfu Town, half a kilometre north of Pontikonisi. The approach and landing, in a northeasterly direction, offer the flying passengers a spectacular aerial view of Pontikonisi and Vlaherna Monastery as well as the hills of Kanoni as the runway used for landing is actually a few hundred metres away from these landmarks.
Plane spotting is great from the dam in front of the air strip.

Corfu’s airport is very exciting, with only one short runway, the airport has to cope in peak times, while widebodies and holiday charters float in one by one! One can spot the planes perfect from the dam in front of the air strip.

“Canal d’amour”
The Channel of Love is a natural masterpiece on , perhaps the only one in the Mediterranean. It is an opening created by the corrosive effect of the water and the air above the cliff made of sandstone. With each year that passes, the continuous effects of the elements of nature change the natural environment of the Channel of Love creating in some parts canals with turquoise waters and in other parts small caves and bights.

“Panathinaiko Stadium, Athens”

The stadium was built on the site of a simple racecourse by the Athenian statesman Lykourgos (Lycurgus) c. 330 BC, primarily for the Panathenaic Games. It was rebuilt in marble by Herodes Atticus, an Athenian Roman senator, by 144 AD and had a capacity of 50,000 seats. After the rise of Christianity in the 4th century it was largely abandoned. The stadium was excavated in 1869 and hosted the Zappas Olympics in 1870 and 1875. After being refurbished, it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the first modern Olympics in 1896 and was the venue for 4 of the 9 contested sports. It was used for various purposes in the 20th century and was once again used as an Olympic venue in 2004.
