Rome.
…
According to the ancient legend, Rome’s river was named after the king Tiberinus, the ruler of the Alba Long city-state, which existed even before the advent of Ancient Rome. The king drowned in this river about 3000 years ago, and the river was named after him in honor of the deceased. After the death of the king, the Roman god Jupiter appointed him the patron of the river. That is why in ancient art the Tiber was metaphorically depicted in the form of a half-naked man with streams of water flowing from his beard.
