Dit was de eerste bruiloft ever bij ⁠ in Den Haag, maar intussen zijn zij ook een officiële locatie geworden. Dus, voor bruidsparen die nog een super toffe awesome industriële locatie zoeken, echt een tip deze!⁠

Samen met mijn lieve fotografie-vriendinnetje schreef ik in 2020 een "naslagwerk" aan groene/ eco-friendly trouwtips bij elkaar op (op instagram!).⁠

Toegegeven, het is er eventjes stil geweest, maar voor iedereen die op dit moment bezig is met plannen wel een schat aan informatie!⁠

Vraagje voor mijn koppels en voor collega-leveranciers: zijn jullie in jullie achterhoofd bezig met milieu bij het plannen van je trouwfeest / het inrichten van je bedrijf / het plannen van bruiloften voor koppels?

Wie mij een beetje kent weet dat ik heel erg ben van de spontane, intieme, poëtische foto's, maar dat ik ook evengoed hou van gestileerde en geposeerde foto's⁠.⁠
⁠
Ik ben er zelf nog niet 100% achter waarom, maar het zijn die laatste soort van foto's die ik zelf het snelste groot aan mijn muur zou hangen. Misschien omdat ik wel van een beetje episch drama hou.⁠

Toen deze bruid mij gelijk na het ontvangen van de preview stuurde "OK ISIS EN DAN WILLEN WE DEZE OP 1,5 METER BREED AAN DE MUUR, GOED?" had ik echt een YES 🔥🔥🔥 momentje. Ik ben dus duidelijk niet alleen. 😅⁠

This was a very special wedding. Not only was it a "love in times of COVID" celebration (and the hottest wedding I have ever shot 😅), but these two people also are super close to my heart. To be there as one of the small number of guests, and on top of that to be able to document this day for them was the most precious thing on earth.

Their day was filled with beautiful meaningful details, like the wedding rings made by one of their best friends, their scouting blankets on the ceremony bench, a (COVID-friendly) ring warming ceremony, an eclectic collection of their favourite delft blue vintage plates, picture frames of the grandparents who were no longer here to attend, and a more or less day-long zoom call with her twin sister who wasn't able to come over from the UK.

My dear Malou and Bas, that every single year after this crazy one may bring you happiness and health and joy and big and small adventures. Because this is only the beginning ;-)

Zo kan het ook, met zijn tweeën de natuur in, geloften die enkel voor elkaars oren bestemd zijn, eindeloos genieten van de zon en het uitzicht, en elkaar. En een klein vreugdedansje erbij!

ENJOY THE MOMENT⁠ // Getting distracted is easy. Getting wrapped up in things that accidentally land on your plate or pass by unplanned. This was actually me today all day, trying to focus on doing some admin and being all like "oh, look, a bird sitting on the garden fence" and "hello neighbour cat, how are you today?" and "let's do the dishes instead."⁠⁠
But on your wedding day make yourself a promise to make sure you soak in every moment and enjoy⁠ the time you spend together. No matter what⁠ is happening around you, keep focused on⁠ each other and what has brought you to this day.⁠⁠
Don't worry about the things that don't go as planned. Don’t worry about how you look. If you (and your guests) have a great⁠ experience together, great photos will follow. Enjoy⁠ the experience, be in awe of this stunning place you’ve⁠ come to, and let go of everything else!⁠⁠
