What a magical morning this was with Mick & Fred in Austria🤍✨

Mick is their own beloved dog, while Fred was temporarily part of their family and what a lucky boy he was! Imagine getting to come along on a holiday to Austria 🥹

They stayed with my parents at Mountainlodge Tirol and actually planned their holiday around knowing that I would be in Austria too. So yes… they came all the way to Austria knowing they could have their photoshoot with me while they were there. And honestly? That feels pretty special ♥️

We had the most beautiful morning together, capturing both dogs in the Austrian landscape and creating a gallery full of different moments, personalities and memories.

They chose my largest package, which gave them the opportunity to select a beautiful collection of their favourite images (not all are in this post). And after the photoshoot, they also received a gorgeous album at home with their memories printed and brought to life🤩

They were so happy with the result and that means everything to me.

Because my mission isn’t simply to take beautiful photos.

It’s to create something that becomes part of your home, your memories and your story.

So when someone plans their holiday around knowing I’m there to photograph them and their dogs… that’s honestly one of the biggest compliments I could receive as a photographer.

Mission accomplished!!🥹🤍

Magic, but… PART 2 ✨

Because the first edition of Magic, but… got such a lovely response, I simply couldn’t resist making a part two. 🤭

So here we go again: a little before & after showing you one of the things I absolutely love most about my work: my magical editing🤌🏻😉

What you see in the final image is not always what my camera captured straight out of camera. There is a lot of time, creativity, attention to detail and a little bit of Photoshop magic behind every final image.

I don’t edit to change the moment. I edit to bring the feeling I saw when I took the photo to life.

The warm light, the atmosphere, the colours, the little details… all the things that make an image feel magical.

And honestly? I could happily spend hours creating this part of the process. ✨

PHOTO TOUR INSPIRATION | Lisa & Nox ✨

What happens when you combine an incredible dog, a breathtaking waterfall and a little bit of “let’s just take the chance and see what happens”? You get this shoot🤎

Lisa Schwenk were absolute stars during this session. Their images have everything I love: strength, elegance, authenticity and a whole lot of fun. Especially when Nox decided to fully embrace the water. 😍💦

This was one of those shoots where everyone behind the camera had that little WOW moment. The location was already incredible, but seeing Lisa & Nox bring it to life made it even more special.

And there was a little bit of suspense beforehand… 👀

Rain was in the forecast, and not exactly a tiny chance either. So we had a choice: play it safe or take the chance and go for it.

We went for it.

And what did we get?

A few tiny raindrops for a very short moment… and otherwise completely dry skies! 😂✨

Sometimes you just have to trust the timing, take the opportunity and make the most of it.

And I think these images prove that it was absolutely worth the gamble!

WHY YOU CAN’T COMPARE PHOTOGRAPHERS BY PRICE ALONE 📸

Imagine you’re buying a new kitchen.

You can go to different companies, compare prices, materials, appliances, measurements, installation and finishes. And often, those kitchens are even produced by the same manufacturers. That makes comparing them relatively straightforward.

Photography? Not so much.

You can have two photographers offering “15 edited photos” and the prices can be completely different and that doesn’t automatically mean one is overpriced.

Because those 15 photos are NOT necessarily the same product.

So before deciding that one photographer is “expensive” and another one is “cheap”, look a little deeper. 👇🏼

✨ What exactly is included in the package?
Is it only digital files, or is there also an album or another physical product included?

✨ How much experience does the photographer have?
Especially when it comes to photographing your type of subject.

✨ What happens before the shoot?
For my shoots in Austria, I have spent countless hours discovering locations, finding the most beautiful spots and figuring out which times of day give the best light. You’re not just paying for the hours I physically spend with you.

✨ What happens after the shoot?
The shoot itself is only one part of the work. Selecting, editing, exporting, storing and backing up your images takes a LOT of time.

✨ What equipment and software are they investing in?
Professional camera bodies, lenses, computers, storage, backups, Lightroom, Photoshop, insurance, website, business costs… there’s an entire business behind that “one hour shoot”.

✨ Are there travel costs included?
Don’t forget this one. Especially in this time where gas costs a lot. Beside that when I travel to Austria I don’t charge my clients a separate travel fee for that.

✨ And most importantly: what is the final result?
Photography is creative work. You’re not buying a standardized product that came out of a factory. You’re buying someone’s eye, experience, style, knowledge and ability to create something that cannot simply be replicated by another photographer.

And THAT is exactly why comparing photographers can be tricky.

Yeah this is reality of a dog/horse photographer to 🤪😅

What do you think what I do when I come home after a sunrise shoot what was located in the water? Yeah the most random outfit and looking at my pictures in my improvised bed, office and chill room 🤭

This is real life 😂

-> Working from my dubble mattresses because my bed I have in Austria is already in our new house back in 🇳🇱

-> my ‘cute’ got home from a shoot outfit 😉😂

-> my little office combined in my bedroom

-> a empty cup of strawberries with chocolate 🍫🍓

-> everything a complete mess, but it works for these few days 🤪

So yeah here is your behind the scenes look of me but with reality 😄👏🏻
