From first contact to maximum eclipse — 90.4% of the Sun covered above Rotterdam.
I photographed the entire sequence from the Wilhelminakade, surrounded by people who had gathered to witness the spectacle together. Beside me, the eclipse was being broadcast live on YouTube by , while Klaus Lucas and I captured the evening through our own lenses.
The detailed eclipse and the cityscape were photographed simultaneously with two different cameras: one exposed for the Sun, the other for Rotterdam and its atmosphere.
A rare alignment in the sky—and an amazing experience shared on the ground.
