Last week we opened The Migrant at the beautiful Guernsey Photography Festival. With a magical opening guided by The Guernsey Symphony Orchestra.
Showing The Migrant at the location of Health Connections Guernsey is a great place and opportunity to have a dialogue on migration and exclusion.
Thank you so much Guernsey Photography Festival and Health Connections Guernsey for making this happen, despite the challenging circumstances. Also many thanks to Ku**er & Herrman for the design, and for Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie, Mondriaan Fonds, Marinus Plantema Foundation, Nederlands Fotomuseum and Erasmus Huis for making this exhibition possible.

Stuck on the ground but Mynah flies around ... first at Landskrona Foto for a few weeks and now in a beautiful Chinese photography magazine. But luckily also here in the Netherlands at the wonderful Nederlands Fotomuseum. On show until 22nd of December. ✨🦅 Prospektor

Dear Friends, just thinking back to the fantastic opening at the Nederlands Fotomuseum some time ago. Good news! The museum is reopening next week and open for visitors, with appropriate measures of course. Both The Migrant and Marwan Magroun's exhibitions are on!

This Friday 6pm opening of the The Migrant in Nederlands Fotomuseum. See you there?

This project started so small, 7 years ago already ... the first idea was just to follow a bird and make a little children's story...
But we started dreaming and amazing people (Team Prospektor ,Thomas Vroege, Fairytale. Laura Stek Teun van der Heijden , Ku**er & Herrman Sonny Liewand many more) started to believe in this project. And before we knew it this project evolved into a radio doc, an interactive app, an art book + live performance, a regular book edition and now an exhibition. But not just an exhibition! But a huge space with 3 rooms at Nederlands Fotomuseum where you can see the life of Mynah including old archive material from the museum itself! (I found out that Mynah used to fly in the royal palace of Jakarta, can you believe it?! )
And we managed to do what I always dreamt of, bringing back the story where it belongs. The Migrant is opening next Friday in Rotterdam and is travelling later this year to Singapore to be on viewing at Objectifs - Centre for Photography and Film then later this summer at Erasmushuis in Jakarta, and in September to Guernsey Photography Festival, making also a detour to Landskrona Foto and ending at Myanmar Deitta
We couldn't have made this possible without the generous support of Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie, Nederlands Filmfonds, Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst Mondriaan Fonds, Free Press Unlimited , Trouw, VPRO Nederlands Fotomuseum and Marinus Plantema Stichting.
