What I find so magical having photographed so many weddings, is that each one is so unique. Every couple and their loved ones bring their own special energy. The weather and location and decoration and details are all different. Every couple has different things they find important on their wedding day. And I get to capture their story to look back on for generations!

A little love boat left the Leiden harbour on a sunny Saturday evening. A cruise through the canals around Leiden ensued. At one point I was photographing this beautiful couple and steering the boat - I will add that to my CV.

If you were curious what my “ideal” weddingshoot would be, I would point you to this day. It was so incredible to travel to Norway to capture this wedding, but that would not be the reason.

Emilie and Kristian put thought into every detail of the day, and their hearts speak of the things that make me so happy too! They sourced their flowers locally through Studio Markblomst | BLOMSTER HAGE BRYLLUP WORKSHOPS , designed their own rings, and Emilie handmade her very own wedding dress as well as doing her own makeup and hair.

At the ceremony and dinner, we were surrounded by art and nature. Nothing super fancy, just incredibly beautiful.

On top of all this, for their couple shoot, we went traipsing through a forest. Emilie hiked up her wedding dress and Kristian found a stick to carry around. There we went. Through bushes, up a hill, down a hill. If you were curious what my favourite shot is of any wedding I’ve ever taken, it might surprise you. Swipe to the last photo to see what I’m talking about…
