SCARY JUMP — He’s not just my love, he’s also becoming my son’s ❤️

Almost two years in, and my son has a new, important person in his life who’s here to stay. He feels it, I feel it, and it’s the best feeling.
Some choices in life are far from easy, but giving myself another chance at love was the best one I’ve ever made. Not just for me, but also because now my son sees his mother being loved, cherished, and desired the way I always wanted to show him.
borzi, you are everything to us and so much more.

(Here they’re jumping off rocks into the water: having so much fun together that I had to go looking for them because they completely lost track of time. I couldn’t wish for anything more.)

VISUAL CANDY - When I visited in London, we decided to do a day of street photography together. The plan was to photograph three different neighborhoods, but we never left Camden, for the simple reason that Camden was throwing visual candy in our faces almost every step we took. Sometimes I hear from street photographers that they get negative reactions of people when they photograph them in the streets, but honestly, Agata and I only had the best reactions, the nicest conversations and the sweetest people coming up to us that day.

Nice lady with the phone that I photographed on the bridge, can you contact me (I forgot your IG handle) so I can send the photo to you?

SUN ON THE VULCANO - My son, walking high on Mount Etna, unaware of the sheer beauty of the landscape around him. He was cold, tired, and just wanted to go home. For me, as a mom, it was stressful trying to balance my own joy with his comfort. We had been walking in the clouds for most of the hike, until they suddenly broke open: casting this beautiful light on my grumpy boy. And just like that, the annoyance melted, and I felt my love for him again.

THE GRAPHICS OF LIFE - Sometimes you don’t need interesting things to happen, sometimes you don’t need ‘moments’ in order to photograph. Sometimes you just have to sit down with your camera, observe silently and watch the world become a graphic playground.

A street musician in Camden, London. Minding his own business while quietly drawing in the crowd around him: people who stop, listen, take a picture, drop a few coins, and then move on again. Minute after minute. Hour after hour. Day after day.

SHARED PASSION – I met at the conference in March, where we were both speakers. Almost the same age, both co-moms, and equally passionate about photography—we clicked instantly. After two inspiring days together, it was clear I’d visit her in London soon. That ‘soon’ turned out to be last weekend.

We spent five wonderful days exploring the city, visiting exhibitions, walking through parks, meeting , and just enjoying long talks in her beautiful home.

On Monday, it was time to dive into our shared passion. We took the tube to Camden and spent the day photographing. We could barely take 100 steps without one of us spotting something worth capturing. Amid all the Camden energy, I kept being drawn to Agata—her light-colored outfit and blonde hair made her both stand out and belong in the chaos.

These photos reflect the joy of two photographer friends coming together and doing what they love most. We’ve already promised each other this won’t be the last time. Can’t wait.

REFUGE – Even 9-year-old boys need a break from life sometimes. But how to do that when you live in a small house with your mom? Well, the old -fashioned way: by building a couch fort and retreat for as long as needed. “I’m here but I’m not here mom”. No worries dude, message received :)

THE DRIVE – One of the things I love most in this world is going on road trips in Sicily with my man. We eat pizza in the car, we talk, we laugh, and we share those perfect moments of comfortable silence.

From the passenger seat, I absorb the world around me. My senses sharpen, scanning for visual goodness. I’m not talking about the obvious beauty Sicily so generously offers: the postcard views, the dramatic coastlines, the ancient towns. I’m drawn to the quiet scenes. The ones that don’t scream for attention but gently whisper: look closer.

An abandoned paper plane, half-faded wall painting, cows so deep in the grass that only their butts are showing: these are the things that pull me in. Not because they’re loud, obvious, or perfect, but precisely because they’re not.

Every stop is a small adventure. Every drive holds the promise of surprise. And while we’re on the road, my camera rests on my lap, always ready. These drives will be frequent. And I already can’t wait for each and every one of them.

EYES OPEN - I went looking for poetry in the city of Rotterdam and found it scattered on the streets like breadcrumbs. Not in grand gestures or perfect light, but in cracks, colors, and corners.

Rotterdam will always feel like home; a place that reminds me you don’t need big moments to be inspired. It’s not loud or showy. It’s down to earth. Real. And somehow, majestic all the same.

I didn’t have much time to photograph, but I didn’t need much either. I just had to look up. Or down. Or sideways. Eyes open. Heart open. That’s all.

BEHIND THE GATES - When I visit my man’s homeland, Sicily, I get to explore the island not as a tourist, but as an insider. After a few trips, I discovered that beyond the amazing food, stunning nature and architecture, there’s also a darker side to the island. It’s the reason so many young and talented people leave to build their lives elsewhere (like my man): poverty, corruption, mafia, and a harsh mentality.

As a woman, I’ve also felt how deeply patriarchal the culture still is—something that makes me feel uncomfortable every time I’m there.

Last week, I wandered through the mountain village where my parents-in-law live, on the slopes of the volcano the Etna. I wanted to experience the town on my own, just me and my camera. What stood out most was a strong sense of exclusion—high gates, barking guard dogs, and empty streets. It felt surreal, so far removed from my everyday life in the Netherlands. But at the same time, I was intrigued.

I love the contrast this island has to offer. She might just be my new source of inspiration.
