And now, for something completely different :-) Back to the cold harsh daylight with some images from my series Scapes 1. This is Scapes 1-01
You are outside. All around you can hear the rustling of the trees and chirping of birds. It feels like you are in a park, but when you look up you see that you are surrounded by rows of flats. The trees form a facade. The green in front of the flats is like the proverbial fig leaf, a green loin cloth before grim living units.
The fall brings out the cold reality. A fan of bare branches against a background of concrete. The facade is lifted.
These images are the result of a quest for places where trees and buildings seem to take up the same space, but as one form a new shape.

This is 52°18'37" N 4°52'28" E from my project Almost home.
It is dark and the only thing that is visible are rows of lights, like small signs of life in an urban area. Beacons you can focus on at night when travelling home. These lights reflect how close we are to each other’s home(s) unlike in the rural environment. The reflections represent the multitude of our destinations.
