This is the kind of family photography I want to create. š¤
I donāt want to simply photograph a family.
I want to create a story around them.
For this shoot, the location wasnāt just a backdrop. This beautiful vegetable garden was something my friends had recently created themselves from the garden beds to the little details throughout the space. They had put so much love, time and effort into it, and they were incredibly proud of what they had created.
So naturally, this was where we needed to tell their story.
From the location, to the clothes, to the little accessories, to the way we interacted with the space everything was intentional and connected.
We chose pieces that felt like them.
We embraced the garden instead of trying to hide it.
We let their daughter play, explore and be herself.
And we created images that feel less like posed family portraits and more like a little glimpse into their life together.
Thatās what I love about family photography.
Not perfection.
Not everyone looking at the camera.
Not a perfectly styled studio backdrop.
Give me a beautiful concept, a meaningful location, thoughtful styling and a family who is willing to get involved and Iām in my element.
These are the family shoots I want to create more of.
So if youāre looking for someone to simply take some family photos, I might not be your girl.
