🌿 Join the Talk on The Language of Nature!

What if nature has always been speaking to us - and we simply forgot how to listen?

Two perspectives, one mission: to reawaken our connection with the natural world.

Afterwards, join Marie-Claire on an artist tour through her work, spread across three floors at De Groene Afslag.

🕙 10:00 – 11:30 AM

Exactly one week ago, I opened my overview exhibition 10 Years of Photography at De Groene Afslag 🙌

Looking back at these past ten years feels both surreal and deeply emotional. So much of this journey has been guided by my connection to nature and wildlife 🌿🕊️
It’s where I find stillness, inspiration, and a sense of wonder.

Through my work, I try to capture that feeling—inviting you to slow down, look again and maybe see the world a little differently 👁️

From the icy landscapes of Iceland and Greenland (series Flight, Aqua Pura, and Frozen Past) ❄️ to the ever-changing colors of the Camargue in World of Salt, these images reflect both the beauty and fragility of our planet 🌍

If my work does anything, I hope it helps people feel more connected—and encourages us to care just a little more 💚

A heartfelt thank you to and all the people that made the opening into such a success 🙏

If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re very welcome to visit. The exhibition in the hotel is open daily from 8 until 22 hrs ✨

Sold the last available ‘Mid-Morning Blues, Torii Gate’, 2020 ⛩️🙌

It was pouring rain the first time I was about to see a Torii Gate. We woke up early, hoping to witness the sunrise behind the gate, but the rain was so heavy we could barely make it out. While others waited for it to pass, I embraced the moment — the mystical atmosphere, the quiet presence of Japan’s enduring myths… a standing invitation for the spirits to return home.

Thank you for giving this piece a new home 🙏

‘Ancient Flowers’ from the series Frozen Past captures the quiet poetry of time suspended in ice. Encased in frozen stillness, these delicate forms of flowers seem to breathe beneath the surface - preserved, protected, yet touched by time. ❄️✨

In this work, I explored the tension between transience and permanence - where ice becomes a keeper of stories and flowers endure beyond the season.

With great pride, I present as of December 1st 2025, the journey of my photography portfolio at .
Across two floors of the hotel, my abstract aerial photographs, created in Iceland, Greenland, and the South of France, are on view, exploring water as both subject and substance.

The atrium is enriched with The Waterfall by .baas, photographs by , and a powerful shark sculpture by , made from 5,000 fishhooks as a statement against overfishing. On the second floor, De Blauwe Stad by emerges from discarded plastics such as jerrycans and washing basins. Completing the space, the acoustic ceiling on the ground floor is embedded with plastic debris recovered from the sea by Boyan Slat’s .

All these works revolve around water—existential to life, yet heavily polluted worldwide. Through art, we aim to confront this reality, raise awareness, and inspire change.
Please do DM if you would like me to join your visit to the exhibition space at

So proud and grateful to share my work at with , booth 112, from 2–9 November 2025.

The first two days have already been deeply meaningful, reconnecting with returning collectors and meeting new people who resonate with my work has truly moved me. It made me realise how profoundly nature shapes not only my photography, but also so much of the art presented at PAN Amsterdam this year.

Whether abstract or figurative, contemporary or historical, nature’s presence is everywhere. Its colour palettes, rhythmic patterns, and organic forms continue to inspire artists, just as they have since the very beginning of human expression.

I wish every visitor an inspiring experience and hope that many will bring a piece of art into their home, a reminder of the beauty and significance of the natural world around us.

This may sound strange, but sometimes you just know. This is the moment to pause. To let go. To listen.

Hovering above the Camargue, the landscape offered me one last quiet gift: A gentle abstraction shaped by salt, time, and light. It was as if the land itself whispered, “this is enough… for now.” It drew the line.

Together with my dear friend , I had the joy of returning to the salt fields of Aigues-Mortes. A place that has given me so much, visually and inwardly. As part of my book project, this marked the final chapter of fieldwork. I’ve gathered countless impressions, colors, and transformations, each stage of the salt-making process now etched into my memory, and into the work.

I’ll miss it terribly. I already do.
But now it’s time to step back, to give space to imagination, reflection, and whatever wants to emerge next.

Who knows… perhaps this pause is just the beginning of something else yet unseen. Who knows…
