A new direction within the same investigation. Rust is left to act on the surface, with tannin added to the mixture. Where the iron meets the plant matter, the oxidized parts change into a violet, almost black color.

This work explores how value can emerge from what is normally overlooked. The bread clip, a mass-produced and classless object handled by everyone, is used and discarded without reflection.

By placing hundreds of clips next to each other, the individual object loses importance and becomes part of an accumulation. What is insignificant on its own gains rhythm, pattern, mass, and weight through repetition, creating tension between the individual and the collective. The work reflects labor, consumption, daily rituals, and the systemic invisibility embedded in everyday life.

Playing with repetition as a trace of habit.
An object once overlooked, multiplied until it becomes visible.
Consumption leaves traces and patterns, even when we don’t notice.

Structure emerges through repetition and everyday use.

With this work I try to reflect on the quiet cycle: use, discard and repeat.

Exploring rust in the process.
In this continuation of the project, I introduced a rusting process to the surface. The oxidation interrupts the repetition, creating breaks and absences within the pattern. What once felt uniform now becomes fragile and uneven.
