Ancient faith meets modern art!

Beautiful morning service today. The pastor spoke on John the Baptist, and I had the joy of singing O for the wings of a dove. Watching the morning light stream through the sanctuary, I used the colorful stained glass to create a digital gothic window on my iPhone. A perfect mix of old-world beauty and new-world creativity. 🎨🙏

My Traveling Guestbook 📸

Standard museum guestbooks are usually left at the front desk. I prefer to bring my own colorful notebook directly to the visitors.
To me, discussing the photographs and exchanging stories is the best part of this entire experience. After these wonderful interactions, I ask visitors to leave a trace on my colorful pages, which they always do. I never leave the book behind at the museum, it travels right back home with me, keeping our conversations alive.

Today, that interaction was entirely familial. I had the privilege of walking through the exhibition with two of my aunts, my mother's sisters, who know our Moluccan history inside and out. It was a beautiful, resonant afternoon, and they both added their unique observations to my guestbook.
I am so incredibly grateful for their contribution.

They’ve arrived! 📸

My business cards are officially ready. Front: my name and website. Back: the key image, title, and dates of the exhibition, about to be stacked on the museum counter.
Although my Moluccan narrative deals with complex and serious themes, I find it a massive honor—and honestly super fun—to make my mark on the Maluku/Belanda exhibition and work on my PR with these cards. Be sure to grab one next time you visit!

HOME

For more than four decades, my HOME has been found within the sacred walls of Europe’s architectural masterpieces.
Every time I step inside these spaces, something magical happens. The horizontal world fades away, and my eyes are drawn straight up toward the heavens. I find myself completely swept away by the sheer scale of it all, the dance of light and shadow, the perfect harmony of symmetry and asymmetry, and the breathtaking geometry of the vaulted ceilings.
Add to that the soaring acoustics, where I’ve been lucky enough to raise my own voice in song, and there’s simply no doubt in my mind. The stillness, the grandeur, the history... this is where my heart rests. This is home.
Here is one of my entries for World Photography Day. I hope it makes you look up too. 👇

Over the past few days, I have been exploring the interesting German Baroque churches of Bavaria. It is impossible not to draw comparisons between these fluid, ornate sanctuaries and the soaring, dramatic Gothic cathedrals of Britain or France. Ultimately, however, they defy comparison, each is a peerless masterpiece of its own distinct artistic world.
