I always find it fascinating how such architecture lures me to stay a bit longer here.

Strolling alongside the canal somehow slowly calms one's heart. I agreed to wander around because I was mesmerised by the reflection on the water.

This traditional windmill, located in Haarlem, is called Molen de Adriaan (Adriaan Windmill). Do you know that this is a replica of the original one?

I've been thinking a lot about why I'm drawn to water.

Somehow, it reminds me that not every journey has to be rushed. Water finds its own rhythm, its own path. It curves around obstacles, adapts to change, and still reaches where it needs to be.

To some this might be a usual place, but to others, it holds extraordinary feelings.

Taken at a nearby forest park, I couldn't help but stop for a moment on a bridge to admire the sunset. It wasn't just that; I wondered how much the water remembers all the people who have passed by.

Go with the flow or be the flow?

Waves can be calm, and yet with a change of wind, it can be rough. Do you notice that they don't simply drift wherever they're taken? They return, again and again, shaped by the wind, the moon, and the tides. Water doesn't lose itself in the current, instead it becomes the current.

Standing on the shore at Wijk aan Zee, I noticed something. Every wave arrives only to return again.

It was windy that day. As I watched the sun slowly disappear into the North Sea, I couldn't help but notice how different this felt from the calm lakes and canals I've been following lately.

For Where Water Remembers, I'm learning that water doesn't remember in just one way.
Sometimes it remembers in reflections but the other time it remembers in strong waves.

Flew above the Weerwater as the sun disappeared behind the horizon, I noticed something. I've been seeing this again and again this month. The sky may say goodbye first, but the water always seems to hold onto the light a little longer.

Do you know that the Weerwater wasn't always meant to be a lake? It was created during the development of Almere after the land itself was reclaimed from the sea.

In a way, both the city and the water are reminders that the Netherlands is a country constantly shaped by its relationship with water.

Perhaps that's why places like this feel different. And tonight, it held onto the last colours of the day just a little longer for all of us.
