My favourite time of the year is almost upon us - SPRING ! Spring really lives up to the name here in Amsterdam. Everything has a “spring” in its step in terms of nature and the wildlife. I don’t know about you but I suffer a little with the cold and the rain so after the last couple of months of hibernation, I am ready for some warmer weather.

Aside from the warmer weather and more hours of sunshine, Amsterdam literally gets more colourful and vibrant. Spring time is an exciting time especially for a natural light photographer who spends most of her time outside!

The Netherlands is most famous for the Tulips from end March through to Mid May however, theres a very special couple of weeks in March that deserves just as much attention. I’m talking about Cherry Blossom season and here is why I love it so much! Right now you will see the buds getting ready to pop but end March/begining of April is the best time to see them in full bloom. However, the blossoms are delicate and they only last for a couple of weeks so you have to catch them whilst you can!

Here is a session I did of the lovely Karina last Spring and I am still in love with this session! The way the petals are scattered over the grass making the prettiest carpet, just so pretty!
