A Winter Story, Nothing More
No one expected a day this beautiful.
The Dutch are not easily impressed by the weather. We are used to wind, rain, and grey skies. But yesterday morning… it caught us completely unprepared.
Suddenly, the Netherlands felt like paradise.
Flooded with an unfamiliar, endless white silence. Streets, rooftops, trees, bicycles, rivers, roads, sidewalks — everything wrapped in a beauty so perfect it felt almost unreal. As if someone pressed pause and gently asked us to simply be.
I watched people step out of their homes with the smiles of children. My neighbors greeted one another as if it were a holiday. Strangers exchanged looks of quiet excitement, because everyone understood this was a rare moment. A day like this does not happen here often.
The sun rose wildly bright, the sky turned deep blue, and the air was filled with a pure, clean, gentle happiness. This is what it feels like when something is simply beautiful and complete.
And I, still recovering from three weeks of illness that left behind a heavy memory, took my camera and stepped outside to fill myself with this pure, magical beauty. A gentle celebration arranged by God in His endless kindness — a gift that reminds me to always be grateful for everything.
