It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Rotarian Chinwe Esther Njemanze as the Chair, District Welfare Committee. I believe that it would be upsetting if any of our members or family, were suffering and we did not know about it. Also to have our members go through any discomfort or illness without us seeming to care would also be upsetting. The committee will be responsible for leading the district's welfare initiatives, including promoting healthy lifestyles.

Chinwe Esther Njemanze hails from the esteemed Njemanze dynasty in Amawom, Owerri Municipal Council of Imo State. Her educational journey began at Alvan Ikoku Staff School, where she earned her First School Leaving Certificate. She then attended Girls' Secondary School Owerri, obtaining her West African Senior School Certificate. Chinwe furthered her education at Imo State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History and International Studies. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree.

Following her education, Chinwe embarked on a distinguished career path, marked by her exceptional skills and dedication.
Chinwe was posted to Delta State, where she served at the State Government House, completing her national youth service with distinction.

Professional Experience

- Airtel Nigeria, Abuja (2012-2014): Chinwe secured a contract job, leveraging her skills and expertise.
- Sterling Bank PLC, Owerri (2014-2018): She joined the prominent financial institution, further honing her professional abilities.

Entrepreneurial Ventures

- Estychy Events World: Chinwe founded this thriving event management company, showcasing her creativity and business acumen.
- Xenitz Construction Company, Owerri: She serves as the Manager, overseeing operations and driving growth.
- Estychy Foundation: As the founder, Chinwe is dedicated to making a positive impact through philanthropic efforts.
- Consulting Firm: She also owns a consulting firm, offering expert advice and guidance to clients.

Rotarian Chinwe, fondly known for her selfless spirit, is a vibrant member of the Rotary Club of Owerri Sunrise. She joined the Rotary family in 2018, driven by her passion for giving back.

Throughout her Rotary journey, Chinwe has held various positions, showcasing her exceptional leadership skills:

- Club Admin 2019
- State Representative for Women in Rotary 2023-2024
- State Representative for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) 2024
- Treasurer, Rotary Club of Owerri Sunrise 2024-2025

Chinwe's dedication to service and community development has led to significant contributions to various committees. Her selfless commitment to improving lives has made a lasting impact, leveraging her time, talent, and resources.

Rotarian Chinwe's exceptional contributions and selfless spirit have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards:

1. Ezi Nwa Nwa Egbu by the Egbu Women Association
2. Ezi Nwa Nwa Puru Iche by the Egbu Anglican Diocese
3. Multiple Rotary Awards for exemplary service

Chinwe's commitment to excellence and community service continues to inspire those around her. In her free time, she enjoys: Reading, Traveling, Cooking, and Giving back to her community.

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Rotarian Ijeoma Georgy Akuegbu-Sunday as the Rotary District Scholarship Subcommittee Chair for 2025-26 Rotary Year. With her extensive background in educational and planning makes her the ideal candidate to lead this subcommittee.

Dr. Ijeoma Georgy Akuegbu Sunday was born in Amawom, in Owerri Municipal, Imo State on 7th February to the family of Chief and Lolo Anthony Chukwuemeka Akuegbu of Umuokwa Amakwu, Orodo in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State. She had her early childhood education at Ikenegbu Layout Primary School, Owerri, and then proceeded to the prestigious, Owerri Girls’ Secondary School, Owerri-Imo State. She had her NCE from Alvan Ikoku College of Education, now Federal University of Education, and her B.Ed in English Education with Second Class Upper Division from Imo State University, Masters in Education Management and Planning. And doctorate degree in Education Management from Imo State University. She is an educationist by profession, well talented, and her area of specialization is Educational Administration and Planning. She is currently working with the Imo State Ministry of Education.

PAG Ijeoma Georgy Akuegbu-Sunday started her Rotary journey as a Rotaractor in her early days in the University and made her impact felt by her various positions held in the School. Aijay transited into Rotary in 2004 with membership of Rotary Club of Owerri. She has been serving in the club, zone and district in different capacities which include:
● Member Rotary Centenary Committee 2004/2005.
● District Governor Installation Committee 2005/2006. Member District Conference Host Organizing Committee 2006/2007, 2009/2010 and 2015/2016.
● Club Admin 2005/2010.
● Club Assistant Secretary 2010/2013.
● District Rotaract Chair 2013/2014.
● Membership Director Rotary Club of Owerri 2013/2014.
● Club President Rotary Club of Owerri 2018/2019.
● District Committee PETS 2018/2019 and 2019/2020.
● Club Director International Service 2019/2020
● District Membership Committee representing Imo Zone 2019/2020
● Family of Rotary Committee representing Imo Zone 2019/2020.
● District Co-Chair PETS 2020/2021.
● Member District Governor’s Installation Committee 2020/2021.
● She meritoriously served as an Assistant Governor in 2020/2021 and came out as the Best Assistant Governor and Best Rotarian in 2020/2021 Rotary year.

● Chair, District Welfare Committee 2023/2024
● District Chair, Women in Rotary, 2024/2025.

Interestingly, Rotarian Ijeoma Georgy Akuegbu-Sunday is a member of Great Association of Women Scholars, Association of Women of Honor, Great Rotary Action Group, Association of Scout International and Rotary Wine Appreciation.

PAG Aijay is a woman of un-quivering faith in the will and power of God, a bridge builder who has received so many awards from churches and the society at large. She has the title “Eziada” in her hometown and “Ezinwanyi” in her husband's home town. An ardent moralist with good Christian background, a staunch Catholic that has held several positions in the Churches of which Maria Assumpta Cathedral Catholic Church, Owerri deemed it fit and honoured her with the Highest award as the Queen Mother in March 2017, and Adaoma Archdiocesan in 2020

QUEENMOTHER, as fondly called by friends, is a Paul Harris Fellow. Happily married to Dr. Cyriacus Ikechukwu Sunday and the marriage is blessed with four beautiful children.
