SERVITUDE A PLATFORM FOR RECOGNITION
When you ask people what or who a servant is, their definition might not really place a servant as important, in fact their definition might place a servant as insignificant in society, but if we look closely we discover that those who occupy such offices are much more.
Many in service are privy to certain information, even state secrets that can steer organisations and countries in certain direction. Information that even some states men and political jugganauts do not have access to. The position of service in some clime is based on serious scrutiny from the employer who truly understands that an ill treated servant is the opening the enemy is looking for, to gain access and bring him down, because by virtue of being close to most notable men, a servant sees things not all eyes have seen, hence has concrete information and not hearsay.
PR they say starts from the gate and what is gateman but an office of servitude, because the gateman the secretary or even a messenger, who we overlook when paying a visit to a place of business can make or mar our desires and ambition to see the boss, who can append that document that will eventually give us the contract, he ( the gateman) knows who we can approach, when we can approach, as opposed to wandering aimlessly. So in a nutshell it makes sense to develop rapport with the "servant" to get regular updates and critical information that will aid our course.
Service to society is the strategy in developed clime to be known, whenever you're aspiring for a leadership position. We often witness people go into the force, most times the military to serve, to gain respect and popularity as a defender of the realm, with a future desire to run for public office.
A critical look at the matter, we see service as one of the best platforms to attain recognition in any given clime.
The misconception of some leaders in most clime, is that in leading a group the led are subject to them the leader. However a critical look at another school of thought begs to differ. Leadership is simply a call to serve which places a leader as the servant to all, hence accountable to the community or people he or she represents, for without the led the leader is just like everyone else. It is the people he leads that gives him the power he or she possesses.
The thought that should run through every individual is to have a heart of service, a desire to give back to society, at every point in time.
This in my humble opinion serves as a strategy to be well positioned; eventually opportunity will come knocking on the door of those who truly serve.
