âI want to thank everyone who is here. Many generations have already passed through the national team, I see many former players here who were once my teammates.
"I see Rui, Pepe, Jorge Andrade, Beto, Quaresma⌠and when I see them, I say: âIâm still here.ââ
"I know youâre probably tired of seeing me at these celebrations, but I believe I still have a lot to give to the national team and to football.
"I want to keep playing for a few more years, not many, just a few.
"I have to be honest: I want to thank all my teammates, because Iâve learned from every one of them, even from this younger generation.â

âTo me, this is a source of great pride. I donât see this trophy as the end of a career but rather as the continuation of everything I did. My effort. My dedication. My discipline, twenty two years with the National Team. I think that speaks for itself.
