It’s impossible not to feel a profound sense of respect when witnessing the Durbar procession. This year’s Ilorin Durbar 2026 was a powerful reminder of how heritage survives and thrives.
​These portraits represent generations of service, family honor, and loyalty to the Emir. I love how the first portrait perfectly encapsulates the festival's duality: the traditional, deep black Turban and the face-covering veil alongside a pair of modern sunglasses, creating an image that is both ancient and contemporary. He looks ready to ride into history.
​It’s more than just a magnificent spectacle of decorated horses and elaborate robes; it’s a direct connection to a vibrant past that is still very much alive in Northern Nigeria. A truly humbling and inspiring experience. 🇳🇬❤️

This event packs a lot of learning terms, such as photography master classes, professor talks, artist talks, mentorship, life experience, and so on.
