Our African rural life was a God given blessing of tranquility. Everything we needed were there in abundance. Then we had the colonial masters and they unearthed the black gold. Comrade Awolowo and others fought for our freedom. The deed of betrayal was hastily done at the Lancaster House in London. No wonder we now celebrate our independence under the tyranny of self conquest and oppression. Are the oppressors not worse than the colonial masters?
