NIPR DELEGATION VISITS CRDCU, CONFERS HONORARY MEMBERSHIP ON SPECIAL ADVISER, HADIZA BALA USMAN

The Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, and Head, Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit (CRDCU), Hadiza Bala Usman, today received a delegation from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on a courtesy visit to the CRDCU office in Abuja.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Planning Committee for the maiden NIPR International Women’s Day Celebration, Mrs. Lami Tumaka, alongside other members of the Institute.

In her welcome remarks, the Special Adviser commended the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations for its sustained efforts in shaping credible narratives within Nigeria’s political, corporate, and public sectors. She noted that the Institute has continued to play an important role in promoting professionalism, ethical communication, and strategic public engagement across institutions in the country.

She also applauded the Institute’s initiative to celebrate and recognise the contributions of women in the public relations profession, describing it as a laudable effort that highlights the increasing impact of women in leadership and communication roles.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mrs. Tumaka expressed appreciation to the Special Adviser for granting the delegation audience. She commended the Special Adviser and her team for their dedication to strengthening performance monitoring and service delivery across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) through the work of the Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit.

She noted that the Special Adviser has distinguished herself as a strong leader and an inspiration to many women across Nigeria. She added that the Institute considered her worthy of the recognition not only for her current role in advancing governance reforms but also for her remarkable antecedents in public service, particularly her historic appointment as the first female Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority.

Mrs Tamaka further explained that the purpose of the visit was to formally invite the Special Adviser to serve as the Keynote Speaker at the Institute’s maiden International Women’s Day celebration. During the visit, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations also formally conferred on Ms. Usman the honour of Honorary Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in recognition of her contributions to public service, leadership, and strategic communication in governance.

The Special Adviser expressed appreciation to the Institute for the recognition and for considering her worthy of the honour. She reaffirmed the importance of strategic communication and professional public relations in strengthening governance, building public trust, and enhancing institutional accountability.

She also reiterated her commitment to supporting initiatives that promote women’s leadership, professional development, and greater inclusion in governance and public service.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of official correspondence from the Institute and a brief discussion on opportunities for continued collaboration between the NIPR and the Office of the Special Adviser on Policy and Coordination.

APC Protocol Sub-Committee Holds Inaugural Meeting

Ahead of 2026 National Convention
The Protocol Sub-Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 National Convention on Tuesday, 10th of March, 2026 held its inaugural meeting, marking the official start of preparations for the party's upcoming convention.

The meeting was chaired by the Governor of Cross River State, HE Senator Bassy Otu, with the Secretary of the committee, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, in attendance, alongside key members including the Honorable Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure; the Honorable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu; Hon. Jimi Benson, among others.

At the meeting, the committee discussed its terms of reference, which will guide the ex*****on of its mandate.
These include managing official courtesy and precedence, coordinating invitations and RSVPs, and developing and implementing seating arrangements for the convention to ensure smooth protocol operations.

Following the meeting, the committee conducted an inspection of Eagle Square, the venue of the 2026 National Convention, to assess logistical and protocol arrangements and ensure readiness for the event.
After the site inspection, the committee paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the APC National Convention Planning Committee, Aminu Bello Masari, at his residence to brief him on the outcomes of their inaugural session and provide updates on the committee's preparatory plans.

The Protocol Sub-Committee has also established specialized groups within the committee, designed to focus on key areas of their mandate, ensuring that all protocol responsibilities for the 2026 National Convention are executed efficiently and professionally.

Drawing from her experience in public service, she spoke about the importance of strong institutions and effective coordination in translating government policies into tangible outcomes for citizens. She highlighted the work of the Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit (CRDCU) in tracking the implementation of presidential priorities and conducting performance assessments of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), noting that the process helps ensure accountability, alignment, and measurable progress across government.

Today, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman, received , Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), who led a delegation of passionate young women on a courtesy visit to her office. The visit was both symbolic and strategic, as the delegation formally presented the Special Adviser with her appointment letter as the National Patron of the Young Women’s Renewed Hope Coalition, in recognition of her leadership, consistency and commitment to inclusive governance.
