Kingfishers are my favorite bird’s species and on the island of Lifou in New Caledonia, we had been lucky enough to stay in a place where you could see them everyday, early in the morning.
I has affraid not been able to see them once in NC but to be honest they were everywhere when you take the time to look carefully.

Turquoise-browed Motmot, Ikkil, Chichén Itzá, Mexico

One of my favorite picture I took from Mexico. When I heard his call I left my friend during the breakfast to have a look around if I could find it.
It was on a tree staying still for couple of minutes giving me the time to take multiple shots ❤️
The name "motmot" came from the double-hooting call, which can sound like an owl.
