Salam Hormat maka Kasilasa.
We are living in a weird times as photographers nowadays, abundant paradoxes when it comes to the idea of cameras and whether or not cellphone photographic performance is on par with DSLR.
Camera system is an issue which sees even a professional photographers are having a hard time and hopelessly redundant to tell which is which.
CELLPHONE CAMERAS ARE KILLING PHOTOGRAPHY IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER....it's such a great opportunity nowadays to be a photographer since we have cameras right on our phones. "A CELLPHONE IS NOT A CAMERA" Some people says, I would say maybe or not.....
Being a photographer and an ARTISTE FIAP 1994 (FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L'ART PHOTOGRAPHIQUE) I was amazed by some winning photos taken by cellphone during the recent photo contest "PHOTO CONTEST SKM 641st ANNIVERSARY-MASJID SHEIK MAKDUM "in focus", of which I was the judge.
Way back then, I sometimes get tired of all the cellphone artist, they seems to bypass the fundamental nature of PHOTOGRAPHY, with their tiny gadget on hand, cellphone.
So with the idea still raging in my mind whether or not a cellphone can match the performance of a more traditional camera the DSLR...I have a strong feeling that I'm not the first person to ever think of this but it's a new idea for me nonetheless and one that I wanted to share with everyone.
I found out it's not the camera that takes the compelling shot, but it's the photographers who can visualize the fundamental rules of photography and take the shot that is readable In a sense of photographic value instead of just looking at the wow factor of the photo.
Could it be that a cellphone will ever be capable of producing images that are close to or I dare say even exceed the results obtained from a professional grade DSLR? Indeed it is, the 1st price and Governor's trophy during the judging process a "cellphone photography" was selected leading behind some photos taken with DSLR.
Lenses play a huge role in photography that's why DSLR still outclassed cellphone camera, however, lately the leading name in camera LIECA lenses are now installed in few names of cellphone.
As far as image sensor is concerned there really isn't much comparison between one inside a DSLR image and the one that fits inside of our cellphone, although the image sensors from DSLR and the CELLPHONE is like comparing rivers and streams........to be continued....
