No single exhibition can tell the story of a country.

Every territory is made of countless stories.

COLOMBIA: A LIVING LAND does not seek to define Colombia or offer a definitive portrait of the country. Instead, it presents an expanded visual essay—a dialogue between three photographers whose independent bodies of work come together to reveal different ways of experiencing the same territory.

Presented as part of the Kuala Lumpur Photo Festival 2026, the exhibition brings together the work of Daniel Garzón, Mateo Borrero and John Cuesta, each contributing a distinct visual language shaped by years of observing Colombia from different perspectives.

Rather than following geography alone, the exhibition unfolds through an expanded visual essay with series of curatorial constellations that connect water, mountains, biodiversity, everyday life and cultural traditions. These themes invite visitors to move freely between photographs, discovering relationships that emerge across places, people and ecosystems.

Curated by IIIIRawLAB curatorial team, COLOMBIA: A LIVING LAND proposes photography as a way of understanding rather than explaining. Together, the three photographers do not attempt to answer the question “What is Colombia?” Instead, they invite visitors to experience fragments of a living country whose richness lies precisely in its diversity.

We warmly invite you to discover the exhibition at KL Gateway Mall during Kuala Lumpur Photo Festival 2026, from 21–23 August.

If you had to tell the story of your own country through photographs, what would you choose to include—and what would you leave outside the frame?

Some territories are best understood from the water.

For Daniel Garzón, water is not simply part of the landscape—it is where life unfolds.

His photographs follow rivers, wetlands and coastlines as places where people, wildlife and tradition have evolved together over generations. Rather than separating nature from culture, his work reveals the quiet relationships that connect them.

In COLOMBIA: A LIVING LAND, Daniel’s photographs form part of an exp

The Art of Survival brings together the work of British wildlife photographers Richard Dawson and William Foulds, inviting visitors to explore the subtle relationships that shape life in the natural world.

Rather than focusing on isolated moments, the exhibition presents wildlife through behaviour, adaptation and coexistence, revealing how every species plays a role in maintaining the balance of its ecosystem.

Curated by John Cuesta and produced by IIIIRawLAB, this exhibition is part of the official programme of Kuala Lumpur Photo Festival (KLPF 2026).

We warmly invite you to visit, take your time with each photograph and experience nature through a different perspective.
