What is 'Punctum'?

'Punctum' is a latin word that can be defined as quality that transcends 'studium', another latin word which means general liking to images, and punctuates the image into the consciousness of the viewer. The Past. Ever since, Bryan Yong was given a point and shoot of his own, there was no turning back. He constantly experimented conceptual shots to bring new perspectives to

friends and family. With ideas developed constantly, photography has became a medium for him to tell stories. Black Tie Photography was founded by Bryan Yong in 2012 to present his ideas to a wider audience. Now equipped with a DSLR, passion to tell a story and eye for details, he is able to capture a unique perspectives of moments which are impromptu and unable to be re-enacted, irrespective of the nature of the events, that will last for generations to come. My philosophy is to allow beholders to experience life twice, in the moment and in retrospect. How do we do it? Bryan Yong Photography adopts a professional approach towards serving our clientèle. We choose to engage with clients in a pre-photo-shoot discussion in order to develop goals for the upcoming photo-shoot. With this approach, we will be able to understand clients' requirements and produce end results that will satisfy both parties. Parallel to our initiative to create ever lasting memories, Bryan Yong Photography provides a complete photography solution to respective clients from documenting moments to providing the final images in prints.
