Can’t quite remember the name of the place where these were taken. Somewhere around Jalan Mesui? Or was it Lorong Mesui? Also, what event was it?

Anyway, digging through the archives and finding little bits of the past. Almost 14 years ago. Damn, time flies.

Envy at CityRoars Fest 2020. The last show I photographed before Covid-19 happened.

I still remember that day. The Canon A-1 I planned to use decided to malfunction for god knows what reason. Good thing I still had my trusty old DSLR with me.

Anyway, here is a lil throwback to the gig before everything came to a halt.

Funny how we can be our own worst critics, forgetting the things we’ve created while obsessing over the things we haven’t.

But whenever I’m in one of those phase, the one thing that’ll bring some kinda joy is my photography. And sometimes when I browse through years of photos that I’ve took, I almost couldn’t believe that I took them.

The collaborative visual/poetry book "Menelan Gelisah Malam" between me and Hafiz Hamzah (of Obscura Malaysia) is now available for purchase at Tintabudi, Riwayat & ZontigaKL, both in-store and online!

The works in this book are deeply personal to me, so it feels special to finally see them find their way into the world, and hopefully, into the hands of those who might find something they connect with in these pages.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, in ways big and small. Your support means more than you know. I hope this book finds its way to you, and that somewhere within its pages, you find a little piece of yourself, too.

Finally got my roll of film developed. Here’s the legendary Boris during their show in KL (a rare, once of a lifetime opportunity to see/hear them live on stage definitely). Although it’s kinda challenging to shoot the show, what’s with the lighting and smoke effects but sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches and make do with what you have).

Caught Boris “Pink” 20th Anniversary show in KL last Friday. Loud as hell is an understatement for sure! Massive shoutout to Mak & the whole Soundscape Records crew for getting them to play over here!

The irony is I caught the Influenza bug next day! Influenza B(oris).

Deepset is one of those bands I’ve known for a very long time (mostly because we are all friends). I think the first time I saw them live was probably back in 2010 at One Cafe, KL along with Efek Rumah Kaca.

These are people who take their craft seriously. And if the wait between albums is anything to go by, maybe *too* seriously 😂 But when you know how much they put into what they do, you kind of understand why.

Some things are worth the wait, I guess.
