The Hottest podcast in town,"Baja Tales & Travels"
This year is podcast. Everyone knows what it is, originally it was a radio style platform on the internet. Over the years with technology and social media, it has grown to new levels and continues. It's everywhere, even here in Rosarito Beach and this year we see more podcasts here. Sports, travel, food, news, events and galore, podcasts are growing, yet what are they about?
Well, if you look around on youtube, spotify, facebook, you can see numerous podcasts channels. The real question is are they still active? Do a google search of "Baja California podcast" and you will see a lot of names such as "Slow Baja", "Baja Bytes","
Rosarito Conecta" and much more. Some are active, some are not. Some have been going on for years while some have been podcasting for months and the big upcoming podcast based here in Rosarito Beach is "Baja Tales and Travels".
This podcast was created in 2026 with the concept of "Real People, Real Stories, Real Baja". Host D'Marie Warzecha with director/tech guy Diego Knight of Studio 212, are the ones who have been churning out podcasts since the first week of 2026. So far they have 17 podcasts and that is impressive since the majority of podcasts end at episode 3 and most are over at episode 10, so we can say that they will be one of the top podcasts here around.
Host D'Marie has interviewed over a dozen guests that range from restaurant owners such as Manny's Place, Baja Paradise Restaurant, Dragon Expres(and the owner of that restaurant is a really unique story). In addition to those, she interviewed people who help animals such as cats, dogs, horses and more as well as a book exchange here in Rosarito.
On the music scene, Diego is the host of the episodes that focus on music since he has been photographing the music scene and other aspects here in Rosarito. Angel Sax and Eloy Miron, musicians here in Rosarito Beach and Tijuana, have been at the studio and gives them an opportunity to the fans on what they do.
D'Marie looks for different stories, hidden stories of people here living here. She searches on different aspects of those residing here. She always is on the search for unique stories. These stories are normally unseen and unknown so "Baja Tales and Travels" podcast is so diverse from the normal podcasts. A lot of the Americans who live here are retired and some are very active especially making a ranch in helping horses, chickens, cats and sheep. Look at the episode about "El Dorado Ranch" here
Episode 15- Dorothy Heim- El Dorado Ranch in La La Misión
All the magic is created in this little studio, Studio 212. Being part of a 3 car garage, only 1 little cute grey electric car in it, D'Marie and Diego converted her "she shed" into a podcast studio by painting the walls green(make sure you don't wear green in the podcast), black drapes, a couple comfy chairs, some microphones and a big tv monitor. D'Marie said that it took some time to put the final touches but it is ready to roll. Diego is the magic man who records, edits and all the work to from start to finish.
Diego has been involved in with interviewing, video, photography and editing for a number of years with pages such as Diego Knight Photography, Baja Talk Time(no longer existing) Eye on Rosarito and his most successful media page, Baja Sports BC, which focuses on sports here in Rosarito and Baja California such as pro boxing, surfing, and more. He has been always interested in in technology and learned a lot in the 11 years getting in photography first.
Diego was involved in with video on the former United Society of Baja California, Eye on Rosarito and now focuses on "Baja Tales and Travels" podcast. He gets ready before every episode starts with the studio and any photos or videos for each guest if available.
Once the episode records, D'Marie starts with "Real People, Real Stories, Real Baja" and interviews the guest while Diego does the transition and tech aspect. Once that is done, he edits, uploads and shares each episode on Facebook and Youtube, with links on TikTok, Instagram, Blue Sky, X and Substack. Each episode takes about an hour and a half after it's been recorded, the uploaded, next watches the views go up. (on another note- each video is created by Diego, no AI is involved creating the episodes)
"Baja Tales and Travels" podcast is growing and a lot positive comments on the various episodes. One thing that this podcast differs from others is that each person is unique and those foreigners on the podcast live here in Rosarito Beach and say that this is their home, coming from California, Chicago, Sweden or Germany. Other podcasts focus on the most popular sites such as restaurants or wineries in the region, "Baja Tales and Travels" podcast shows a different perspective who those who live here. They talk about why they are here and some of the challenges they have overcome living here in Rosarito Beach.
