Costa Rica is a global leader in nature conservation and environmental policy. They stand as a beacon of hope for sustainable development. A good example are these conservationists at . They protect the fragile turtle eggs from poaching and other dangers. Giving the sea turtles a big advance for further survival.

The Jump Beyond
Launching itself above hundreds of rays and splashing back into the water. Mobula rays have some incredible acrobatic skills.
It is believed that this behaviour could be a way of removing parasites, or it may be communication or reproductive behaviour.
Their moves remain a mystery to scientists. But definitely freaking cool to witness 🌊🇲🇽

A sinkhole filled with turquoise water.
This cenote in Yucatan might be my favorite due the natural light shining on the stalactites. The fascinating fact is that the catfish swimming around are uniquely adapted to survive in this dark environment.

A place in Mexico with so much nature, culture and history combined. The biodiversity along the coast, mangroves and into the jungle is worthwhile visiting and protection. Swipe along though my highlights in video.

Sometimes the scene and the story come all together. That's what happened in the first image. The right coral is bleaching, which means it's slowly dying. Getting rid of the color is a final effort to survive.
This is primarily caused by warmer ocean temperatures from climate change. Conservation efforts show that coral reefs could be restored quickly if well protected.

Mobula madness in Baja California.
The mobula ray migration comes with precision. Each individual holds the exact needed space from others. It's those things that make my fascination in the ocean world even bigger.

Sand dunes eating the mangroves.
The mangroves dissapearing several meters each year. This natural proces comes with beautiful landscapes.
With rising sea levels and expanding coastal development, mangroves have less space to recover. In nature conservation the mangroves are crucial. Protecting coastlines, storing carbon, and providing habitat for wildlife. Such as this coyote I was lucky to spot🐺

Curious Coati
What a great meeting up close between this small coati. Unlike raccoons the coatis are more active in the day. They eat almost everything they find using their long snouts to sniff under the leaves. This helps break up the soil and keep the ground healthy.
