Opening night of new show "Entre Dos Mundos" blew me away! The professional level choreography, costume design, music, lighting, was outstanding. The bilingual cultural education it provides was incredibly moving. Earlier this month, a friend and I took a road trip to a small town in Yucatán called Sucilá. It was just what the doctor ordered for both of us - calm, good food, and welcoming people.

Sucilá is in the middle of cattle country, so milk products are readily available there. We stopped at this restaurant/cheese factory El Chapparal for meals twice because it was so good!

I highly recommend trying their cecina plate - the meat was tender and the cheese was delicious. For dessert we got crema de coco which was had a consistency similar to flan or pudding, but was creamy and delicious with small bits of coconut in it.

The next time we went I had horchata and the quesabirrias. They were packed full of meat and cheese and the broth was so flavorful. If you're in the area, plan to make a stop - you will not regret it!
