Joann Andrews has passed away, an eminent conservationist who devoted a large part of her life to protecting the ecosystems of the Yucatán Peninsula. She was a woman of profound intelligence and vision who had a positive impact on so many people, myself included. Shortly after meeting her in 2012 we had the opportunity to conduct an extensive interview with her about her life and work, which became a three-part feature for our blog, rideintobirdland.com.

I’m sharing the link here for those who would like to learn more about this remarkable woman, who lived to nearly a century on this planet and left an enduring legacy. Knowing her was a privilege and a source of inspiration.

Ha fallecido Joann Andrews, eminente conservacionista que dedicó buena parte de su vida a proteger los ecosistemas de la Península de Yucatán. Fue una mujer de inteligencia profunda y visionaria que impactó positivamente a muchísimas personas, entre quienes me incluyo. Al poco tiempo de conocerla en el 2012 tuvimos oportunidad de hacerle una extensa entrevista sobre su vida y trabajo, la cual devino en un reportaje en tres partes para nuestro blog rideintobirdland.com.
