20/08/2026

Documenting a destination wedding at Dreams Playa Mujeres requires a versatile technical approach, balancing authentic, high-energy moments with precise environmental portraiture. For this gallery, our focus was on clean composition and a true-to-life narrative.

During the morning preparations, utilizing directional window light allowed us to document unscripted, candid moments—like the groom’s humorous gift exchange—with crisp clarity. Conversely, we took a photojournalistic approach for the bride, using architectural elements like a doorway to create a "frame within a frame" as she stepped into her gown.

The oceanfront terrace ceremony presented bright, direct coastal daylight. Our priority here was maintaining balanced, crisp exposures that properly highlighted both the couple and the sweeping turquoise backdrop without losing detail in the highlights.

For the couple's portraits, we focused on incorporating the resort's vibrant environment to build depth. By shooting through out-of-focus, bright yellow tropical foliage in the foreground, we created a strong, editorial composition that draws the eye directly to the couple.

Moving into the evening, capturing the kinetic energy of the day becomes paramount—perfectly illustrated by the dynamic, joyous cake cutting framed against soft ambient reception lighting and fireworks.

High-end wedding photography is about technical adaptability—seamlessly navigating varying light conditions while allowing the couple's true personality to drive the visual story.

CANCUN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Photographing a luxury destination wedding at Atelier Playa Mujeres requires a deliberate approach to lighting and composition, balancing sleek modern architecture with vibrant tropical elements.

For this gallery, our objective was to deliver a technically precise yet authentic record of the day. The morning began by utilizing the resort's clean lines and directional light to capture striking black-and-white architectural frames. For the bridal details, soft, diffused natural light was selected to emphasize the varied textures of the styling elements—from the crisp edge of the vow books to the fine details of the jewelry.

As we moved into the lush resort grounds for the first look, the jungle canopy provided naturally diffused, dappled light. By utilizing a shallow depth of field, we directed the visual focus entirely onto the bride's expression, allowing the rich, warm tones of her floral arrangement to stand out clearly against the muted background.

To anchor the gallery in the venue’s distinct aesthetic, we integrated the resort’s bold artwork. By framing a tight, editorial crop of the bouquet against a vibrant geometric mural and using flat, even light, we eliminated distracting shadows to produce a highly graphic, high-impact image.

High-end wedding photography is about intentionality—knowing how to navigate shifting lighting environments to consistently deliver a crisp, vibrant, and effortlessly elevated final gallery.

TRONCONES WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

There is a completely different, deeply grounding energy when a couple gets married at a venue they put their own blood, sweat, and tears into. Traveling to the laid-back surf town of Troncones, Zihuatanejo, to document Josh and Doris tying the knot at their very own beautiful property, Hacienda el Eden, was an absolute dream. The entire vibe of the weekend was pure, unfiltered "barefoot luxury." From the groom’s effortless white linens and the vibrant bursts of bougainvillea to their beloved dogs wandering the ceremony, every single detail felt so authentic to who they are. It wasn’t about rigid timelines or stiff, formal traditions; it was about celebrating their love, their community, and this incredible, secluded slice of the Mexican coast they call home.

As a photographer, capturing a wedding in a surf destination like this allows you to completely shed the formalities and lean entirely into organic, lifestyle-driven storytelling. I wanted the visual narrative to feel as wild and relaxed as the environment itself. We utilized the lush, tropical foliage of their boutique hotel for their portraits, letting their genuine, unscripted joy completely lead the way. But the true magic happened out on the sand. Documenting them walking barefoot down the shoreline alongside a full Mariachi band, with the Pacific ocean crashing right beside them, was an unforgettable, cinematic experience. Closing out the gallery by pulling focus to that iconic Zihuatanejo sunset, blurring the couple into a soft, romantic silhouette against the horizon, felt like the only right way to anchor their story. Effortless, authentic, and undeniably magical.

PUERTO VALLARTA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

There is something genuinely magnetic about documenting two women in love, and my biggest goal for this gallery was to capture exactly how that deep, grounding connection actually felt. We started the morning up in the stunning jungle canopy at Hotel Mousai, using the resort's sleek architecture and beautiful natural light as a high-end backdrop for their getting-ready moments. As a photographer, I was completely obsessed with the visual contrast of their styles—the sharp, tailored lines of the olive suit paired flawlessly with the soft, romantic texture of the lace gown. It just looked so effortlessly chic. Before the formalities even began, the vibe shifted to a sun-drenched pool party down at Garza Blanca. Catching those candid, joyful lifestyle moments over cocktails really set the tone for a celebration that was as wildly fun as it was luxurious.

By the time we hit the beach at Garza Blanca for the ceremony, the emotional weight of the day truly took over. Witnessing them stand by the ocean to promise forever to each other was incredibly moving. While I love capturing the wide, sweeping scale of a beachfront setup, I always make sure to lean in for the intimate micro-details, too. That close-up shot of their hands, their rings, and the gorgeous contrast of their wedding attire—it’s those quiet, gentle frames that truly show how tender and fiercely protective their bond is. And of course, Puerto Vallarta gave us the ultimate grand finale. Instead of overpowering the scene with artificial light, I chose to expose strictly for that famously fiery sky to create a bold, cinematic silhouette. It’s just them, totally victorious and wrapped up in each other against the Pacific horizon. Pure magic.

RIVIERA MAYA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

A ceremony at the edge of a pristine cenote deep within Sandos Caracol Eco Resort requires a complete departure from traditional, bright tropical wedding aesthetics. This couple had zero interest in standard, overly posed beach portraits; they wanted to fully immerse themselves in the raw, moody atmosphere of the Mayan jungle. To translate that vision, I leaned heavily into the organic architecture of the environment. By shooting through the dense, twisting mangrove roots and utilizing the deep shadows of the canopy, we crafted a series of intimate, unconventional portraits. The resulting frames feel inherently wild, slightly mysterious, and perfectly tailored to their distinct, edgy aesthetic.

That deliberate, atmospheric mood of the afternoon seamlessly gave way to an unapologetic, high-energy reception. When you have a couple whose personal style is this authentic, the documentation needs to match their vibrant, unfiltered dynamic. Moving away from the natural shadows of the cenote, I transitioned to a direct, hard-flash technique for the evening. This allowed me to sharply freeze the unscripted chaos of the night—from quirky, irreverent moments with the groomsmen to the bride completely owning the dance floor. It’s this exact visual contrast—from cinematic jungle shadows to raw, high-contrast party energy—that makes their gallery so unapologetically theirs.

HINDU WEDDING CANCUN

Documenting a multi-day South Asian wedding at the Royalton Riviera Cancun requires a dynamic shift in photographic vision. The narrative begins with quiet, editorial elegance—utilizing high-contrast black and white to isolate the intricate artistry of the Mehndi and the exquisite beadwork of the bridal lehenga. However, the moment the Baraat begins, the approach must pivot entirely to high-energy photojournalism. Capturing the groom's arrival in a convertible, surrounded by sharp architectural shadows and a wildly energetic crowd, sets a kinetic, vibrant tone for the rest of the celebration under the Mexican sun.

The beachfront ceremony was deeply moving, but the true editorial showstopper happened the second it concluded. To mark their union, a massive display of color smoke fireworks erupted directly behind the floral mandap. Freezing that exact fraction of a second—the couple throwing their hands up in pure joy against a towering, explosive cloud of pink and orange smoke—yielded one of the most high-impact, cinematic frames of the year. Once the sun set, that same electric energy poured into the ballroom reception. Using direct flash to cut through the ambient room lighting, I captured the raw, unscripted luxury of the night, from synchronized table shots to the bride triumphantly ruling the dance floor. It is this flawless intersection of profound tradition and wild, uninhibited celebration that makes a wedding of this caliber absolutely unforgettable.

INDIAN WEDDING CANCUN

There is a unique cinematic brilliance to a multi-day Indian wedding, where vibrant heritage meets timeless, editorial elegance. Documenting this spectacular two-day celebration at the Royalton Riviera Cancun was an absolute honor. From the quiet anticipation of the morning details to their striking portraiture beside a vintage roadster, every frame was designed to curate their visual legacy. The pristine coast of the Riviera Maya served as a flawless, sunlit backdrop for their oceanfront mandap, allowing us to preserve the sacred, refined beauty of their Hindu ceremony just moments before they became husband and wife.

Yet, true luxury photography is about capturing the raw, unfiltered pulse of an event, and the energy of this weekend was absolutely electric. The Baraat set an unforgettable, high-octane tone—a sweeping visual of vibrant colors, billowing pink smoke, and the relentless rhythm of the Dhol echoing against the Caribbean breeze. As dusk fell, the Sangeet transformed the evening into an immersive, passionate celebration, with a dance floor that commanded the room until the early hours. It is the juxtaposition of these beautifully contrasting moments—the sophisticated reverence of their Indian traditions and the unbridled, spirited chaos of their party—that creates a truly masterful wedding gallery.

CANCUN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Photographing a destination wedding at Atelier Playa Mujeres requires a deliberate eye for bold, vibrant contrast. The resort is a masterclass in modern Mexican design, seamlessly blending sleek, luxury architecture with wild, tropical lushness and striking indigenous art. I wanted to anchor this couple's visual narrative in that distinct aesthetic. Utilizing the massive, brilliantly colored murals provided a high-impact, editorial backdrop, perfectly juxtaposing the groom's crisp linen suit and the bride's intricate bouquet against the vivid artwork. Moving from those highly graphic spaces into the dense, green jungle pathways allowed us to use the dappled canopy light to craft softer, deeply romantic portraits that still feel inherently rooted in the tropics.

But beyond the striking design of the venue, true luxury storytelling is ultimately dictated by the energy of the couple. You simply cannot manufacture the kind of unscripted, sun-drenched joy we captured during their first look on the oceanfront terrace. From the groomsmen bringing absolute fire to their pre-ceremony portraits to the bride literally leaping into the air against the sweeping Cancun coastline—this is exactly what modern destination weddings should feel like. It’s an unapologetic, high-vibe celebration. The resulting gallery is crisp, vibrant, and effortlessly high-end, proving that luxury doesn't mean stiff; it means being totally free to live in the moment.

DESTINATION WEDDING OAXACA

Photographing a ceremony within the walls of Templo de Santo Domingo requires a masterful command of both scale and available light. The 16th-century gilded altarpiece commands absolute attention, but the true editorial narrative lies in the juxtaposition of this overwhelming architectural magnitude with the quiet, intimate rituals of the couple. By utilizing precise framing and a deliberate depth of field, I isolate the bespoke cultural details—the placement of the traditional floral garlands, the quiet tension in the groom's hands resting on the kneeler, a stolen glance at the altar. Translating select moments into high-contrast black and white strips away the visual weight of the ornate gold, allowing the raw, sophisticated emotion of the ceremony to anchor the frame without competing with the environment.

The transition from the hushed reverence of the sanctuary to the blinding Oaxacan sun demands an immediate, instinctual shift behind the lens. As the massive wooden doors open, the environment explodes into the unapologetic vibrancy and kinetic energy of a traditional Calenda. Capturing this exit is a definitive exercise in dynamic storytelling. Framing the couple from behind as they step across the threshold perfectly illustrates this dramatic shift—their silhouettes framed against the bright plaza, instantly met by towering stilt walkers, folkloric dancers, and the immediate chaos of celebration. It is this precise intersection of profound, historic elegance and vibrant cultural luxury that defines the ultimate destination wedding experience in Oaxaca.

DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER OAXACA

There is a very specific kind of magic that comes with shooting a destination wedding in the heart of Oaxaca. The architecture alone is an absolute dream canvas for a photographer. For the morning preparations, we leaned entirely into the unique vibe of each space. Over at Hotel Casa Oaxaca, the bride got ready surrounded by those iconic white walls and beautiful native cacti. I’m always obsessed with playing with that bold, directional Mexican sun—using those deep, organic shadows to give her bridal portraits an effortless, high-fashion edge. Meanwhile, the groom’s morning at Quinta Real had a completely different, moodier energy. It was all about embracing those historic stone corridors and finding the perfect, dramatic pockets of light to capture his final details. It just felt so incredibly cinematic and refined.

Then, the energy of the day completely shifted as we moved toward the ceremony. Capturing a bride arriving at the iconic Templo de Santo Domingo in a traditional horse-drawn carriage is one of those moments that genuinely feels like stepping onto a classic movie set. As a photographer, you instantly switch from a curated, editorial mindset to pure, unscripted storytelling. I wanted to make sure we documented not just her beautiful arrival, but the sheer, breathtaking scale of that 16th-century facade and the buzzing energy of the plaza around them. Balancing those quiet, stylized morning portraits with the absolute, raw grandeur of the city is exactly why I fall in love with weddings here every single time. It’s effortless, elegant, and completely unforgettable.
