Spy hop! There's lots of interesting behavior to see when going whale watching. Grey whale season has been great for us humans. Unfortunately, high mortality and low birth rates mean they're not doing as well as we would want them to :( As a silver lining we did see one calf today, which looked in good shape 🤩

This discarded fishing net killed a sea turtle and a sea lion. What you're looking at are pieces of the turtle's shell that fell further into the net as her body started to rot. Unfortunately, horrible scenes like this one can be seen daily all around the globe. Ghost nets can kill unnoticed for years. Thankfully though, this particular net will not kill any other animals since it was removed by a group of volunteers organized by !
