EPISODE 1: A LOVE THAT BEGAN ONLINE
Sometimes, the person who brings a smile to your face may also teach you one of life's hardest lessons.
📍 Lilongwe, Malawi
Jass was a young man who believed that true love was built on honesty, trust, and respect. He never imagined that a simple Facebook comment would change his life.
One evening, while scrolling through Facebook, he came across a comment written by a beautiful young woman named Pililani.
He visited her profile, smiled, and sent her a friend request.
A few minutes later, Pililani accepted.
JASS: “Hi, Pililani. How are you?”
PILILANI: “I'm fine, thank you. And you?”
JASS: “I'm good. I saw your comment and thought I should say hello.”
PILILANI: “Haha! That's interesting. So, you just decided to text me?”
JASS: “Sometimes, a simple hello can be the beginning of something beautiful.”
Pililani smiled at her phone.
From that day, their conversations became longer. They talked about their dreams, their families, their struggles, and their hopes for the future.
Every morning, Jass looked forward to hearing from Pililani. Every night, he found himself smiling at their conversations.
One evening, Jass decided to express what was in his heart.
JASS: “Pililani, can I tell you something?”
PILILANI: “Yes, tell me.”
JASS: “I don't know how to explain it, but talking to you has become one of the best parts of my day. I think I'm starting to have feelings for you.”
Pililani remained quiet for a moment.
PILILANI: “Jass, I also feel something special between us.”
Those words gave Jass hope. He believed that he had finally found someone with whom he could build a beautiful future.
But there was something Jass didn't know.
Before he came into Pililani's life, she was already in a relationship with another man.
Pililani had not ended that relationship. Yet, she was growing closer to Jass every day.
One night, while chatting with Jass, her phone suddenly rang.
It was her other boyfriend.
BOYFRIEND: “Pililani, why have you been acting differently lately? You hardly give me the attention you used to.”
PILILANI: “I'm sorry. I've just had a lot on my mind.”
BOYFRIEND: “Is there something you're hiding from me?”
Pililani looked at her phone. She wanted to tell him the truth, but fear held her back.
PILILANI: “No, there's nothing.”
She ended the call, but her heart was troubled.
Meanwhile, Jass was becoming more serious about their relationship. He wanted honesty. He wanted commitment. He wanted to know that the woman he was falling in love with was truly available to love him.
Unfortunately, he was falling deeper into a story whose full truth he did not yet know.
And Pililani was running out of time to make a decision.
