At least three poachers are believed to have been eaten by lions at the Sibuya Game Reserve near Kenton-on-Sea in Eastern Province, South Africa, after a head and body parts were found.

Incredible day out to an elephant sanctuary here in in Chiang Mai.
The elephants here were bought from elephant-riding tourist camps and from Thai elephant working camps. There is strictly no riding here. We fed the elephants, learnt how to care for them and gave them a scrub down in the river. If more tourists visit conscientious camps like these and avoid the elephant riding camps perhaps the riding camps where elephants are exhausted will eventually be put out of business and the elephants can be rehabilitated and live a happier life in camps like these. IT'S NOT FUN FOR ELEPHANTS HAVING MONKEYS LIKE US ON THEIR BACKS!!

Arrived tired and weary in Yangon a few days ago - the difference in Myanmar to the rest of Southeast Asia is vast and we have never before felt so welcomed and warmly treated. Can't wait to get out into the rest of the country in the next few weeks.

Standing at the Isthmus of Kra - the narrowest sliver of land slicing between the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. We're Teetering on the edge of Thailand looking over the Kraburi river at Myanmar on the other bank. Seems so close yet so far seeing as we have to travel a further 1000km just to get to a border post where we can cross into those Burmese lands.

Getting back on the bike can take you to some amazing places. Our sunset yesterday and sunrise today was probably close to perfect and all it cost us was a R30 camping fee and 2500 calories of pedalling.

When we began our grandest voyage yet almost two months ago we weren't quite sure where it would take us. We know our bikes far better than ever now. We also keep off express ways learning not to always trust Google Maps but rather the services of truck and load policeman who got us on the right track to making our first crossing of no mans land from Singapore into Malaysia. Now, with both Singapore and Malaysia behind us and Thailand underneath us, spontaneity has become a close companion and has pointed her finger towards Myanmar. If our pedalling and sense of direction prevail, we'll roll into The Golden Land in just two weeks!
