After teaching a photography masterclass in Doha, Qatar, I had the chance to spend some time there.
It was a great experience discovering Qatar’s amazing culture and the generosity of the people.

Special thanks to .qa for the invitation, to for making this happen, and to my friend for the warm hospitality and time —
and to all the amazing people Soufian, Mohammed… ; the list is very long.
I hope you will enjoy the pictures and tell me your favorite from 1 to 20

I returned from Egypt carrying a mix of sorrow and conflicting emotions — an experience unlike any of my previous journeys.
I won’t go into the details of why the peaceful “Marche to Gaza” was blocked, nor what many of us went through in terms of deportation and denial.
But I chose to share with you a few photos I took in Cairo during those long days of waiting, anticipating this symbolic act of solidarity.
They may not be direct images, but they were born from a deep inner feeling — taken while I lived in a state of anxiety and uncertainty, knowing I could be deported at any moment.
I came back with a heart heavy with grief for what our brothers and sisters in Gaza are enduring.

For the past nine years, I’ve been documenting Eid prayer in Casablanca. The very first photo happened by chance in 2015—and it became the main reason I entered the world of professional photography.

Nine years ago, I went with my grandmother and mother to the Eid al-Fitr prayer. I sat down like everyone else, chanting the takbir and waiting for the prayer to begin. Suddenly, I was surprised to see that the designated prayer area had filled up completely, and people started laying down their rugs in the street.

I had a small camera with me. I stood where I was and began taking a few photos, but I couldn’t capture everything I was seeing with my eyes. So I decided to look for a better angle.

I noticed a building to my left with the door open. I quickly made my way in, climbed the stairs, and reached the rooftop. What I saw was unbelievable—the entire street was covered in colorful prayer rugs.

As I started photographing the scene, a voice suddenly called out from behind me: “Thief! Thief!”

I turned around, shocked, and saw a woman in her fifties, clearly frightened.

I quickly said:
— “Don’t worry, I’m not a thief—I’m a friend of Saïd.”

She replied:
— “Saïd who lives on the second floor?”

I answered in surprise:
— “Yes! I’m waiting for him so we can go to prayer together.”

She said:
— “Oh my son, I’m the only one here. I thought you were trying to steal the laundry!”

I laughed and reassured her:
— “It’s okay, really. Don’t worry.”

She left, and I continued taking photos.

What would you have done if you were in my place? 😀
Eid Mubarak to you all!
