The crowned prince 👑🍄‍🟫💧

On this photo walk, I had a LOT of fun experimenting with droplets. I kept trying to make them as big as possible before they rolled down the mushroom.

Gravity won quite a few times 😄 But eventually, I managed to get these big droplets to stay right on top of the caps, almost like little glass crowns.

A little mushroom family posing for the shot 🥹

I adore finding mushrooms that resemble us - groups of people, couples, or little families.

These instantly looked like mama and papa mushrooms with the little kiddos standing between them. Once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it 🥹 Isn't this just adorable? 💚

The intricate details of tiny bonnet mushrooms 🍄

These little fungi are SO tiny. For scale, you can see pine needles stacked up in front of them - their stems are actually thinner than a pine needle!

I used my SmallRig lights to brighten the mushrooms from below and light up the darker parts. For the vibrant Autumn background, I arranged the scene behind them myself. Swipe to see the behind-the-scenes video and what it actually looked like 👀

Tiny details rising above the moss 🌿

At first glance, this little patch of moss looked quite simple. But once I got low and looked at it through my macro lens, I noticed these tiny moss sporophytes growing tall with long red stems.

I love how different the forest floor can look when you view it this close. The spore capsules between the green moss against these warm Autumn colors in the background created such a beautiful little scene.

These are exactly the kinds of details I would probably walk past without a camera. Macro photography always makes me stop, look closer, and find unnoticed, tiny things on the forest floor 🥹

Autumn colors, but make it Summer 🍂🧡

This rudbeckia was one of the first photos I captured last year with my 135mm f/1.8 lens, and I immediately fell in love with the depth of field. Somehow I never scheduled it for last year's Autumn feed.

This year, I'm letting Autumn-colored flower photos into my Autumn feed too, so I can share some of my orange, red, and yellow Summer photos with you too ❤️

I do have lots of actual Autumn content waiting for me too. Last week, I went on three photo walks after taking a little break, and I still have to sort through all of those photos and load the best ones into Lightroom. This is easily my least favorite part of the whole process 🫠

Once I select the best photos, I'll definitely be sharing them first with my Patreon members and Instagram subscribers.
