Fukagawa festival procession consists of over 50 teams carrying a mikoshi (a portable Shinto shrine of sorts). On the way to the main shrine, the teams are constantly splashed with water.

It is thought that the gods in the mikoshi enjoy a good summer soaking. And it helps with the extreme heat as well.

The festival, is believed to date back to 1642, and is one of the three greatest festivals of Edo.

The last part of the procession, depicted here, has kids taking part in carrying the mitoshi for a small distance as well.

Spring equinox celebration of Lithuanian pagan faith Romuva. Romuva is a modern interpretation of traditional ethnic religions of Baltic tribes, reviving religious practices of pre-Christian Lithuanians.

As most pagan traditions were lost during Christianization of Lithuania in 1387, nobody really knows what the rituals were like as few written sources remain. Baltic paganism is a polytheistic faith with elements of animism and ancestor worship. At least 5000 Lithuanian claim to be followers of this faith.

Spring equinox is the celebration of spring and is commemorated by offering the gods salt, bread and flour, singing traditional songs, dancing ancient dances and playing games.

Visit to the communal kitchen of Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the biggest gurudwara (Sikh temple) in Delhi.

The communal kitchen is run by volunteers and serves free food for anyone interested of any faith. A meal of paratha (bread), rice and daal (soup) is served twice a day every day and feeds up to 1500 people in several batches.

Parque Cóndor yra plėšriųjų paukščių prieglauda, kurioje gyvena paukščiai, išgelbėti iš brakonierių nelaisvės arba patyrę didelių sužalojimų. Abiem atvejais jie nebeturi galimybės išgyventi laukinėje gamtoje.

Parque Cóndor vykdomos paukščių veisimo ir repopuliacijos programos bei švietimo iniciatyvos, skirtos visuomenę supažindinti su paukščių elgsena bei jų nebijoti.

Parque Cóndor is a shelter for birds of prey rescued from poaching or after serious injuries. In both cases, the birds are no longer fit to survive in the wild.

Parque Cóndor is carrying out bird breeding and re-population programs, as well they educate the community about the behaviour of birds in order to abolish the fear of the birds of prey.

Ekvadoras yra šalis, turinti daugiausia rūšių vienam kvadratiniam kilometrui pasaulyje. Taip ir atrodo. Šalies gamtosaugos programos teigiamai nustebino ir pasirodė gana veiksmingos, nors ir netobulos.

Ecuador has the most biodiversity per square kilometer of any nation. And that shows. The conservation efforts in the country as well proved rather effective, while not perfect.
