The study analyzed 164 confirmed human-caused leopard deaths over a 17-year period, revealing that these incidents are heavily concentrated in the estate mosaics of the central highlands. While wire snaring remains the primary threat accounting for over 62% of known cases, the findings highlight the urgent need for targeted conservation in these specific landscapes to protect the island's apex predator.
