Darjeeling, 2026
For the last few years, I’ve been travelling to Darjeeling during the monsoon. Although it is technically the off-season, this time of year creates a mysterious aura around the entire city. The streets are often covered in fog, while light and shadow cast an eerie glow, making Darjeeling look as though it has been pulled straight out of a noir film.
And that is what draws me back to Darjeeling every monsoon.
Here are a few images that, I hope, capture a little of that essence.
