Photography has been my compass to life.

Not just in the obvious sense. Yes, it took me from a teenager with a small camera to someone who travels the world for a living. But more than that, it taught me everything.

How to be patient. How to read people, situations, and rooms the same way I read light and animal behavior. How to build something from nothing. How to show up consistently even when nothing is happening. How to find the shot even on the worst days.

Every skill I have in business, in relationships, in life, I can trace back to something I first learned through a lens.

The Serengeti reminded me of all of this.

There is nowhere on earth quite like it. The sheer scale of the plains is something photographs struggle to fully communicate. Kopjes rising out of nowhere. Light that shifts and transforms every twenty minutes. Animals everywhere, completely unbothered by your presence, just living.

Happy World Photography Day to everyone who has ever picked up a camera and felt something from within.

SELFIEEEE. The best experience of my life: Gorilla Trekking in Uganda today. This baby chimp was the funniest thing I have ever watched. So playful, so curious that it came up to me while I was kneeling down. It went ahead and pointed at my camera (since that was placed forward), and touched it for a few seconds.

Since we are briefed to stay still, and my finger was already on the shutter button - I just made the most out the moment! Glad I could keep my composure and just keep shooting while the baby was being curious.

Check the fourth slide (video), the huge silverback alpha gorilla was just behind the baby watching. Glad he let this interaction slide ?🤣

This is genuinely an experience of a lifetime, and I’m so grateful to have been blessed by the baby with this interaction. No wonder why this is on millions of bucket lists!

Overall, Uganda has been nothing but exceptional. I’m doing photography tours there from 2027. DM if interested :)
