The Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush (Myophonus blighi) is a rare, endangered, endemic bird found in Sri Lanka’s montain forests, known for its loud, melodious whistles and shy nature, often near streams. Males are deep blue-black with a bright blue shoulder patch, while females are duller brown with a smaller blue patch. It is secretive, inhabiting dense undergrowth, and its diet includes insects, snails, and small reptiles.
