🦋The butterfly in the photo is a Grey Pansy, scientifically known as Junonia atlites.

🦋Appearance: This species is characterized by its pale greyish-buff wings, which feature pink and black circular markings called ocelli. The underside of the wings is much paler with fainter markings.

🦋Habitat: The Grey Pansy is a common butterfly found in South Asia, including Sri Lanka, where it is the dominant pansy species in wet zone home gardens and parks. It can often be seen gliding over open grassy areas and flowering bushes in bright sunlight.

🦋Behavior: The Grey Pansy is a relatively slow flier, and the males often perch on bushes to find mates.
