දුටුවෙමි හැඩට පිපුන හිරු මලක්
වියලුන කර්කෂ, නිසරු බිමක
පිපී පිරුවට,එළිය කරයි මුලු පළාතම
දුරක හිද බැලු විට, පෙනෙයි එ මලේ හැඩ,
පරයමින් දුක්ඛිත,විඩාබර දිවියක ඇති කටුක බව.
හොරෙන් හොරෙන් බලයි මදෙස සැමවිට
නෙලාගැනුමට නොහැක,අප අතර ඇති දුරද වැඩිය,
තලා දැමුමට හැක,දවා අළුකර හෙලා බිමට
පීත වර්ණිත සියක් පෙති පහුර...

නමුත්,

මම දුරින් හිද,
සැනසුම් සුසුමක් හෙලා, බලා රැකගත්තෙමි
අකාලයේ පරව මියයන්නට නොදී
ලබාදුන්නෙම් රැකවරණය
දකිනාතුරු ලස්සන, කතරෙන් පිටත ලෝකය.

එදිනට, ලොවක් කෑගා කියයි මෙලෙස...

හිරුමල හැමදාමත් පෙම් කලේ රුදුරු හිරුටමය
පෙන්වමින් ඇගෙ වතේ ලස්සන,
එනමුදු, විදගන්නට නොදී වෙන කිසිවෙකුට,
අනිමිසලෝචනයේ යෙදෙයි හැමදාම,
නැගෙනහිර සහ බටහිරය අතර අති කාල රාමුව පුරාවට.
පැනගිය පසු බටහිර හෝරාව,
හඩයි රසසේම තනිව රෑ පුරාවට.
නැවත පැමිනෙනතුරු නැවුම් දිනක නැගෙනහිර උදාව
දැන දැනත් ඇති සැඩපරුෂ බව
දෙදෙනා අතර ඇති දුර පරතරය
එක් නොවනා වග සදටම...

මෙයයි සකි ආදරය,
ලබා ගැනුමට නොහැකි විට
තලා පොඩිකර,
රොන් පහසක ඇති රස විදින්නට,
හැකියාව ඇති නමුදු දෙමින් රැකවරණය,
දුරින් හිද රැක ගැනුම...

හිරු දුන්න ඔවදන සරලවම.
ඔබ,
ආදෙරෙයිනම් මලකට
එය කඩා ගෙන අතට
රැගෙන ගොස් සුවද විද
පරව පෙති සැලුන විට
පිළිකුලෙන් විසි නොකර...

රැගෙන දිය දෝතටම
හෙලා ගස මුල මතට
පිපෙන්නට දී ලෝකයට
බෙදන්නට දී සුවද වට
විදගන්න ඒ ආදරණීය ආදරයේ හැගුම
සබද ,
එයයි සැබෑ ආදරය...
