The island features acres upon acres of lush tea-covered hills, from the heights of Maskeliya to the lowlands of the south. Here’s how you can embark on a Ceylon tea adventure with your other half.

Gartmore Falls, Sri Lanka

This waterfall is commonly known as Sri Pada falls due its proximity to Sri Pada Holy Mountain. Since this waterfall lies inside the Gartmore estate it is also known by the name Gartmore Falls.

Sri Pada Falls directly falls on to the Maskeliya Reservoir and is fed by two streams which joins above the falls. Each of these streams creates a waterfall before joining and lies inside the Gartmore Estate. These two waterfalls are jointly called Gartmore Estate Waterfalls.

Another waterfall of about the same height lies several hundred meters away from Sri Pada Falls feeding the same Maskeliya Reservoir is called Moray Falls. Due to the close proximity of these two falls some confuse the names of these waterfalls and the Moray Falls is sometimes identified as the Sri Pada Falls.

Myliddy Fisheries Harbor, KKS, Jaffna, Sri Lanka

In the 1980s Myliddy Fisheries Harbour in Jaffna was one of the major fishery harbours in the country that contributed significantly to the fisheries sector. During the conflict, Myliddy fisheries harbour became non-functional and was under the custody of Defence Authority since 1990. Myliddy is in Northern Province in Tellippali Divisional Secretariat Division in Valikamam area and described as a typical fishing village. Myliddy is in proximity to Jaffna Airport and Palali Military base, and is one of the popular and thriving fishing spots in the Peninsula. The official documents confirmed that the Myliddy harbour and 54 acres of land was handed over to the District Secretary, Jaffna in July 2017. Myliddy is the second most popular fishery harbour in Sri Lanka and served as a historic economic landmark in the Northern Province.

The Polonnaruwa Vatadage is an ancient structure dating back to the Kingdom of Polonnaruwa of Sri Lanka. It is believed to have been built during the reign of Parakramabahu I to hold the Relic of the tooth of the Buddha or during the reign of Nissanka Malla of Polonnaruwa to hold the alms bowl used by the Buddha
