Hello Mr.President Donald J. Trump,

My name is Jasmine. I am just a Cambodian child who loves my country, my culture, and my people with all my heart.

I want to thank you, with all my heart, for speaking with our Prime Minister and the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand to help stop this war. Your efforts to bring both sides to a ceasefire and peace mean so much to me, my family, and every Cambodian.

On behalf of all Cambodian people, I respectfully thank you for standing up for peace and helping to end this tragedy. We pray that your leadership will lead to lasting peace and friendship between our nations.

My name is Jasmine. I am just a Cambodian child who loves my country, my culture, and my people with all my heart.

Today, I am crying as I write this because I am scared. There is a war. Thailand has attacked our land, destroyed our sacred temples, and hurt so many innocent people and our soldiers who have been trying to protect us and civilians, all of whom have done nothing wrong. These temples they are destroying are not just stones. They are the soul of my history, the memory of my ancestors, and a part of who we are.

What hurts me even more is the lies being told. Thailand says Cambodia started this war. That is not true. We never wanted war. We only want peace.

I don’t understand why people must fight and why children like me must grow up in fear. I dream of a world where neighbors help each other, not hurt each other.

I beg the Thai leaders: please stop this war. Let us solve our problems by talking, not by killing. Let the International Court of Justice help us find the truth and a fair solution.

To the world, I ask: please do not believe lies. Please listen to the truth. Please help us stop this war.

I am only a child, but I believe in peace. I believe in justice. And I believe that together we can still choose the right path before it is too late.

Please… stop the war.

我叫茉莉，我只是一个深深爱着自己国家、文化和人民的柬埔寨孩子。

Today, I am crying as I write this because I am scared.
今天，当我写下这些话时，我哭了，因为我很害怕。

There is a war. Thailand has attacked our land, destroyed our sacred temples, and hurt so many innocent people and our soldiers who have been trying to protect us and civilians, all of whom have done nothing wrong.
战争爆发了。泰国攻击了我们的土地，摧毁了我们神圣的寺庙，伤害了许多无辜的人民和奋力保护我们及平民的士兵，而他们都没有做错任何事。
