One of the unique characteristics of this eagle is its short toes, which lack feathers and have rough soles. This adaptation is thought to assist in gripping slippery prey like snakes. The name "Snake Eagle" reflects its primary diet, as these birds specialize in hunting snakes, although they also consume other reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals. 🐍

Short-toed Eagles are known for their impressive soaring flights, utilizing thermals to gain altitude. During migration, they can cover significant distances, moving between their breeding grounds in Europe to wintering areas in Africa and South Asia. 🌍
