This female leopard was hiding in a thicket with a kill. I thought she has settled there for the day as the sun was very hot and she already had access to food and water there. So we crossed the river bed and moved to the other side. As soon as we reached there she came out of the bush and climbed the embarkment on to our side. It was a surprise to see a her leaving behind her food and shade to be out on a hot afternoon. However, something told us that she is out for a serious purpose. She walked to the opposite direction from were she came. We followed her at a safe distance and saw her continuously calling in what is known as chuffing sound, which is used, by a female leopard, to call and locate her hidden cub. We were lucky enough to see the cub joining the mother. This picture was taken when she sat down on a mount and was in middle of making the chuffing sound.
