For the love of lion cubs 🫶

Amazing footage taken by - after watching the lioness for hours waiting for a glimpse of the cubs we were rewarded beyond our wildest dreams with not only an amazing sighting but the opportunity to photograph and video this intimate moment between mother and cubs. This is what Emerald odyssey is all about, slowing down and taking the time to observe and photograph Africa as it should be photographed - intentionally.

Sometimes the stars align and it goes your way. We had spent hours with this cheetah in the Okavango Delta in the hope we would get the chance to photograph it coming straight towards us and after many failed attempts it finally happened. We had positioned ourselves in a depression to achieve a low angle and the results were epic! The moment is still crisp in my mind.

There’s always that moment before it all kicks off.

This male cheetah climbed up onto a termite mound and just watched the wildebeest out on the floodplains. No movement, no rush… just quietly reading the herd.
You could feel the tension building. Every head turn, every step, every small gap opening up - he was taking it all in.

Calm on the outside, but everything’s already in motion. .okavango
