It is with delight that I present new work created during my KYOTOGRAPHIE African Artists Residency last year!

During this residency, I immersed myself in Japanese textile craftsmanship, working with masters like Kondaya Genbei who made the kimono used in this particular artwork.

Historically, textiles have been a meeting point for many cultures, with the influence of trade, global events, and the intermingling of traditions woven into their fibres. In More Than Half, I bring together the two worlds of Japan and Kenya to speak about one’s place in a community and present a world where belonging is not granted by resemblance, but expanded by existence.

I cannot wait to share this new work (and some Camo!) with you!

Come and see ‘Camo’, Presented by , at Kondaya Genbei Chikuin-no-Ma opening 18th April.

“Between true friends even water drunk together is sweet enough.”

A Sisterhood of Dreams

Recently I’ve been reflecting on women’s relationship with water. Women are often the custodians of their family’s water supply, but beyond the rhythms of daily life, women still have an intimate relationship with water.

Among women, water and rejuvenation are often synonymous for it is with water many of their rituals of self-care are performed.

Where there is water, a community of replenishment gathers. Around its calming surface, women find release, connecting with friends and strengthening relationships; stories are told, burdens shared, dreams voiced and memories traded.

For a woman, water goes beyond a chore; it is a vital point of connection to her community of sisters.

Come and see ‘A Sisterhood Of Dreams’ at from 5-8th Feb, booth F04 with . I’ll be there to say hello! 👋🏾

I’ve always wanted to create my own fabric. This year I finally did.

Journeying into the art of fabric-making, what was supposed to be a reconnection to traditional methodologies soon turned into a recognition of our longstanding dialogue with the environment. This journey into tie & dye was not a nostalgic return, but a yielding of process. Over time, it became undeniably clear that the environment was my uninvited co-creator. The more I tried to control the outcome of the dyeing process, the more she resisted. This isn’t just a series about fabric. It is about impact; about the undeniable entanglement between what we make, and the world we make it in.

Delighted to announce my Solo Show, “Clouds Bring Blessings” opening Nov 8, 2025 - Jan 15, 2026 Paris! This new body of work has been a journey of self-discovery, learning, unlearning, and surrender. I can’t wait to share it with you.

A Harvest Of Happiness

A bouquet of flowers collected to bring vibrant colour into a home, a stick and mud transformed into a delight-filled game for a child, or a garden carefully curated to celebrate beauty—for her, it is about the happiness and satisfaction harvested from communing with nature. Every seed, blossom, and leaf is an opportunity for the transmission of delight.

Thrilled to present “A Constellation Of Power” my new work exhibited at FEMMES, a group show curated by celebrating the many facets of womanhood gallery Paris.

A Constellation Of Power

A single point of brilliance may light the way but together, when women unite, they become a constellation, illuminating unconquered possibilities.

Women are vessels of power; understated power that only amplifies when they gather. Standing shoulder to shoulder, the power of one woman ignites the next, growing in its passing until - as a whole - it transcends the collective to become an uncontainable, undeniable force.

Whenever the nation of women gathers, there is power.

Delighted to announce I will be showing Paris this March alongside some incredible artists for the exhibition FEMMES curated by !

As Black women are important figures of personal inspiration for Pharrell, their kaleidoscopic representation forms the core matrix of FEMMES. The exhibition is built on a foundation of works by artists of African descent across generations.

For the show, I created A Constellation of Power- a work which drew inspiration from the truth that whenever the nation of women gathers, there is power.

FEMMES curated by Pharrell at Perrotin Paris. March 20th - April 19th. See you there!

Celebrating a milestone and a dream come true! 🎉

I’m thrilled to announce that I will be spending the next month in residency with as a 2024 Bellagio Center Resident!

During my stay, I’ll be furthering my research into the East African kanga to continue to develop my new body of work, Woven Voices.

Like our modern day Twitter, the kanga was a historical cloth of communication, broadcasting messages on personal rivalries, politics and the current issues facing a community. Designed and worn by women it gave them a voice in a society that insisted on their concealment as a sign of social decorum. When designing the cloth women selected its inscription- often a proverb, taunt, or blessing- to share their specific social commentary.

In Woven Voices, I use the kanga to reconceptualize colonial stamps to highlight the issue of inherited self-bias and how it has devalued communities. Woven Voices is a response to the long-standing cultural amnesia across Africa where as individuals we often underrate the value we add to the world from our traditions and cultural diversity. This narrative has rerouted the self perception of a whole generation- an identity turning point that our community unconsciously absorbed and continues to carry.

It is an immense honor to join this prestigious program that has hosted artists, policymakers, scholars and scientists from all over the world across every discipline. On a personal level, what is so meaningful about this residency is the opportunity to contribute to Rockefeller Foundations founding mission to “promote the well‐being of humanity around the world”. A very special thanks to for believing in my work and supporting me through the application process!

Tomorrow Camo, the book, is out!

I would be honoured and grateful if you would support me by pre-ordering a copy today via the link in my bio or through my website.

I have always wanted to write a book. Coming from an oral culture I recognise how fleeting history can be until it’s written down. As an artist I’ve also come to appreciate the need to preserve culture even as I challenge and question my place in it.

I hope by reading Camo you will find affirmation, colour and celebration (and maybe a few fun facts about my up-cycled accessories!) and of course, be captivated by the dazzling illusions of Camo.

🇰🇪 If you’re in Kenya, the book isn’t available for pre-order but send me your email and we’ll let you know when it arrives.

🇫🇷 If you’re in France, you can pre-order directly through

Special thanks to and for making this dream a reality!
